ReadyNAS 202
1 TopicBacking up a partition on an external USB WD My Book to ReadyNAS 202
I am attempting to set up a back schedule from a partition on a 3TB external WD My book to a chosen share on ReadyNAS 202. Every time I attempt to complete the Remote system section I get the same error message whe testing the connection. The external drive is connected to a Macbook Pro via USB and I can access the ReadNAS over the wifi network so the solution I want is to back up one of the partitions on the WD My book as it is to big for a timemachine, also the timemachine does not appear to let me specify specific volumes and folders when selecting disks. I am aware that one of the problems was that the format of the disk is set to Mac OS Extended (Journaled) so I have tested another partition which is now formatted to FAT 32 I was setting up as follows: HOST: IP address of the macbook (also tried name of the eternal HD drive) Protocal: remote:nfs Share: /Volumes/folder name (same as mount point description though tried various other combinations) Login and password: Macbook login (also tried without) In addition I tried various permutations without any luck and always get the same error: Unable to connect to host Code 7077010011 Checked the source folder is set to shared, permissions for the folder are set to readand write as default. I know the macbook can see the ReadyNAS as I have also set up a private timemachine to back up the Macbook which is working as expected. Any help in this would be greatly appreciated.
