ReadyNAS Ultra 2
3 TopicsRAIDar 4.38 stuck on "UPDATE" and no Volume is showing
I was having issues re power supply (V12 error), and the READYNAS Ultra 2 was off this morning when I checked. I swapped out for a new power brick and rebooted. The readynas was'nt showing up on trhe network. I figured that the OS got corrupted, so I installed a new os using the boot menu function. RAIDar now sees the box, but there is no light on the Volume Status, and the info section reads "Updating" and has for at least a half hour. Hi community, I recently had a disk crash on my netgear ReadyNas - it seems the crash is being recovered without any loss of data, but in this process I have found something strange. I can log in on my NAS using the admin page http://<IPaddr>/admin, and I can view all settings, but the moment I try to change something and press Apply - nothing happens. It is as though it does not read what is in the input text boxes. Example 1: - I go to system>alerts and add an e-mail address where I can send the reports of problems etc. I fill in all the details, but the moment I press apply, all the boxes are returned to default state and nothing is stored. Example 2: - I want to shutdown and reboot using System>shutdown and also perform scan on boot up. I press apply, and the pop up boxes come and informs me that a disk scan will be done on boot up. Then the local admin home page is shown and nothing happens. The strange thing is that this was not a problem earlier. This has simply always worked. Anyone knows what the cause of the problem is? Is it network settings? Is it RAIDiator version ( I have the latest one - RAIDiator 4.2.27 )? I am clueless on this one. Cheers, Johan4KViews0likes18CommentsReadyNAS disrupts TV?
The setup My NETGEAR ReadyNAS Ultra 2 (I know, she's old but still lovely!) is connected by a single LAN cable to my local network. That local network also connects three laptops, two cellphones (all four wireless) and two TVs (by a LAN cable). The TVs are provided with digital television by the ISP (if it matters, the Dutch company "KPN"). The phone is also connected to that router by a regular "phone jack" (RJ11). The ReadyNAS is not often accessed for its NAS part: that is mainly used as photo archive. It does have the HTTP, FTP and SSH servers enabled, but the website isn't "high traffic". The NAS runs on RAIDiator V4.2.27. The problem Whenever the ReadyNAS is on and connected to the local network (but not "in use": no one is using the three servers or the NAS part), the TV signal is "disrupted": the screen freezes for periods ranging from 10 seconds to several minutes, and at times it tells me that it lost the signal. The disrupts do not occur when the NAS is not connected to the network. However, that renders the NAS useless of course. On suggestion of the help desk of my ISP I connected the NAS to another power outlet. This didn't change anything. I also switched the LAN port that is in use on the NAS. That also didn't help. Maybe some explicit questions might help? Could it be that the disrupts are caused by the NAS, or is it just a strange coincidence? If the NAS could be the cause, could anyone please help me solve this? Would this be a software or hardware problem? Would otherwise a new/other device functioning as NAS and webserver solve this problem? Thanks for considering!Solved4.7KViews0likes10Comments
