ReadyNAS Duo V1 file share permissions broken, can't create/delete files
Had my ReadyNAS Duo V1 for a few years now. File share permissions were working fine. Now, as of a couple weeks ago, I can't write or delete files from the shares. I still have read permissions it seems. I can copy files from the share but not to the share. I have a very strange problem. The disc in Tray 1 will no longer connect. I thought the disk was crashing, or at least the boot sector. After some repair attempts (CHKDSK and so on), I concluded that something was wrong with the drive and I returned it to the factory (warranty). Yesterday I received a new disk (Seagate Ironwolf). Immediately put in tray 1; no reaction. What is going on. The disk in Tray 2 is perfect when I install a disc in Tray 1, the system tries to connect that disk without success. As soon as I remove disk 1 from the tray, it will be re-connected to disk 2. When I start the NAS with the 2 discs, it will not start. When I start the NAS with Disk 2 in Tray 1, I get the "root error" error. I have tried to reinstall the operating system by holding reset button for 5 seconds, no result. I have already tried to reinstall the factory setting, no result with 2 disks in the NAS, as soon as I remove the new disk from Tray 1, the system will only perform the reinstallation for disk 2. Ciao a tutti. Dove lavoro io (abbiamo preso la gestione da poco) c'era un readynas dup v1 rnd2000 che aveva dati di archivio. Il tecnico che aveva un accordo con la gestione precedente si faceva pagare 1000 euro all'anno per la manutenzione e quindi aveva messo una password che solo lui sapeva. Avendo letto molte guide su questo modello ho fatto il "OS reinstall" tenendo premuto il tasto reset per non più di 5 secondi. Finalmente ho potuto cambiare la password ma ora riesco a vedere solo la cartella backup che tiene backup vecchi di un'anno fa. Eppure fino a meta Marzo i documenti c'erano nel NAS e l'operazione da me effetuata non dovrebbe cancellare i dati. Dite che ho perso i dati ? Esiste un modo per verificare/recuperare ? I am unable to connect to the administration page. Nothing have been changed since long time. Shares are accessible in windows, Android and media players. Website is running normal. It is given always the same ip adres by the modem. Can not connect to website is the message But the webserver is normally accessible The webpage for the torrent addon (:8080) works fine. Hi, Since powering down my Nas (2 seagate disks - dont think I set up RAID) for about a week, I have no longer been able to connect to it, or find iton my network usjng RAIDar. I have checked network cables and everything seems ok. I tried a OS instal, as that has resolved similar issues I have had in the past. This didnt work. I then tried connecting by linking the Nas directly to my PC (after setting the pcs ip address and subnet to thatof the default Nas), but this failed to work. The Nas itself shows not unusual led blinking after appearing to boot normally. The ethernet plug socket suggests its connected as both lights are on solid. I have connected to my router, which shows the nas is not connected to the network/router. I want to keep the data on the Nas so I havent tried a factory reset. Yesterday I tried flashjng the OS using a usb with the latest firmware image (raidar 4.1.14). During this process the led showed an error code; 3 blinks, which I think is bad contents on root partition.I have since shuf down and restarted. Its now still not accessible, but not showing error codes. Help, I dont know what else to try!Solved3.3KViews0likes10Comments
