2 TopicsReadynas 3220 - What is recommended volume maintenance schedule (scrub, balance, defrag)
We recently got a new 12 drive Readynas 3220 loaded with (12) WD RE 4TB drives and are moving about 2 TB of data to it. The unit is currently on the 6.4.0 firmware but will be upgraded shortly. This will be the main file server for our architectural office so will be used for storage of Revit and AutoCAD files as well as the usual office type files. Given that we are donig more with Revit (large files) and more rederings we anticipate that the total amount of data will grow over time. I want to make sure that the unit is maintained properly to ensure a good long life without trouble. I've read in a post from several years ago that scrubbing was only recommended a couple of times a year but did not see specific recommendations for defrag and balancing. What is the currently recommended schedules for scrubs, defrags, and balancing for this unit in our type of use? Thanks in advance for sharing your expertise.Solved4.1KViews0likes2Comments6.4.0 102 - No scheduled power on.
My 102 powers down and up on a schedule, this has been the case without issue for a long time. Since upgradig to 6.4.0 (from 6.2.5) it no longer comes up correctly. I find the power light flashing and the NAS is uncontactable. If I pull the power and then reapply power and press the power on button the NAS comes up OK. Thus has happened every morning since the upgrade. The upgrade itself seemed to go OK ad the NAS came up OK after the upgade reboot. As far as I can see nothingis written to any logs at the failed auto power ons. Suggestions?2.9KViews0likes7Comments
