Hello, looking at my log I can see that a particular Mac address has tried endlessly to log into my router. My router (RAX45) has a button for "Access Control" but it is not accessible because I'm using the Nighthawk app. It says to use the app to control access. I have scoured the app but can not find a place to enter a mac address for it to be blocked. The app only seems to tell you when your router has been accessed. I have an RBR850 three unit mesh system with Smart Parent Controls subscription. I just learned today that even though I have my kids profiles set to disable internet at 11pm, they can still connect a VPN and access anything. Under Content Level - Categories, the VPNs and Proxies are also blocked full time in their profile. After catching them and taking away all their devices indefinitely, they admitted to being able to do this as long as they can remember, so this isn’t a new bug. This is super disappointing for a product this expensive. Basically the parental controls are completely worthless, and worse, it doesn’t even show usage on their profile.1.1KViews1like1CommentBlocking IP Armor
Apparently Armor has blocked a device. However I did not see this device in the blocked list, on top of it my Armor subscription has ended. This does not allow me to use it anymore, will this also mean that I get a “fresh” start and nothing is being blocked anymore, also the divices/IP’s that were previously in the block-list? Thanks in advance1.1KViews0likes0CommentsCan't activate Netgear Armor after being forced to downgrade firmware on cable modem router (CAX30)
Nighthawk CAX30 cable modem router (I can only select the CAX30S as an Associated Product but this is definitely a CAX30). Formerly, firmware 2.3.10. Purchased Netgear Armor to be sure that was -not- the issue. Followed both steps in Netgear's kb about CAX30 not connecting to internet. Downgraded firmware to 1.4.11.2 based on suggestion from users in Netgear and/or Xfinity forums. Only did so after all other suggestions from Netgear and Xfinity had no impact on the issue. My Netgear Armor subscription is no longer recognized by my Nighthawk CAX30. My preference would be for a full refund because I bought it under the impression that something was faulty on my end. It now appears there was something faulty on Netgear's end, given that the firmware is no longer available for download. I'm currently staring at a bright red banner in this forum that says, "We are aware of an issue affecting Nighthawk CAX30 Cable Modem Routers that may have resulted in an interruption of internet service. For instructions to restore Internet connectivity click here." but the linked kb article says nothing about downgrading from a retracted firmware. This feels like an oversight at best, disingenuous and false advertising at worst given that Netgear is failing to disclose that the fault appears to lie in their own firmware, not a subsequent setting. Also notable that the now-retracted firmware (2.3.10) was in response to a serious security flaw (PSV-2022-0195) and I'm now being forced to choose between exposing myself to this vulnerability -OR- purchasing a brand new, usable device. How do I get a refund for a purchase I would never have made if it weren't for a faulty product?1.7KViews0likes2CommentsRBR50 and Armor
I keep getting a message that says "Configuration issue detected on ZTE 968." I don't have a ZTE 968. I don't know if one has connected to my network at some point and I don't know who it is or what. I'm concerned it's a security breach. The message usually comes in between midnight and 6 AM. I don't know if it's someone driving by or what. Is there a way to block it if I don't have the MAC address or any other information? Thanks.1.6KViews0likes2CommentsArmor Says Expired But Has Active Dates Listed
Armor continues to fail to protect us. It worked fine until we renewed and now all of a sudden it constantly says it is expired even though somehow it updated the dates of the subscription to reflect the new expiration dates. Somehow there's a disconnect and no troubleshooting steps are helping at all. There was a payment issue at first where Netgear charged us twice and had to remove one charge from the account. Now they removed the one charge and for some reason we are here with this mess. Idk what to do. I need this security for my partner's job and without it he loses money. This isn't ok. It needs to be fixed. I've tried reaching out and nobody is any help at all. I've got all the screenshots etc. But for privacy reasons won't share them just to anyone out in the open. We can see the transaction was finalized and they did take the money. We have a full receipt for it too. Yet here we are now. Things were fine then suddenly they're not. I'm freaking out because everything literally everything is now at risk on our network and it's not ok. It only lets me attach a singular screenshot for whatever reason, but you'd also see the expiration date is not until 2023.Solved3.2KViews1like2CommentsNot able to get Armor on my new router or remove my old one from my account.
Hi, For backgound see this thread: https://community.netgear.com/t5/General-WiFi-Routers-Non/Ny-new-Orbi-RBR750-already-registered-but-... . I marked it as solved since I thought Netgear support would resolve it. That is NOT the case. I currently own a Orbi RBR750 with one satellite registered on my mynetgear account. My old router Orbi RBR50 with a satellite I no longer own but it's still registered on my mynetgear account. The old router is also registered on my armor.netgear.com accounrt and I can not find a way to remove it. I have a month left on my Armor account but Netgear Support claims that I do not have a plan. I can SEE my router and how many days is left in my account. I then thought I could let it go and put Armor on my new router. That isn't possible either. I just get an error message when I try to set up Armor through the Orbi Android app. And Netgear Support doesn't seem able to do anything. I can not removed ,my old router and not add my new. I am now afraid they will renew my Armor account since I paid with a credit card. I can't find the payment method anywhere in my Armor account either. The receipt I got when I renewed last time says: "Your NETGEAR Armor powered by Bitdefender subscription associated with xxxxxxxx@xxxxxxxxx.com has been extended with 12 MONTHS, for 69.99 USD and it will expire on February 05, 2022" Iam totally at a loss here! I can not add my new router to Armor nor remove my old one and in February I may be charged again for a subsription for my old router I no longer have. What can I do next? //CD Message 1 of 21.4KViews0likes0CommentsRAX48 Smart Parental Controls Not Tracking Time
Hi, I have owned the RAX48 router for about a year and decided to start the free trial of the Smart Parental Controls on 10/13/2021. Initially the time was not being tracked on the first day, I took it for a glitch as it was resolved after a reboot. I noticed that the Usage section of the app was not reporting any time under Apps & Websites, but was showing time reporting in Categories. I put it down to a glitch and since it was working, I wouldn't worry about it. As of 10/26/2021, the router misreported tracking time for any of the profiles for my children on the network. Initially the time would track and then not pause access to the internet once a time limit was reached. We were seeing sites being accessed in the Usage section of the app, even after the time limit was reached. This appeared to be resolved after a reboot, since the usage was then recognized and each profile was paused until the next day. As of 10/27/2021, the router stopped tracking completely and showed that all profiles had 0 minutes of use. We are also seeing no usage tracked and I can only assume that there is no blocking on restricted sites. To attempt to resolve this issue on 10/27/2021 I performed a firmware update to V1.0.4.100_2.0.64. I then created a backup of the router settings and performed a "Revert to factory default settings". After restoring the backup after the initial setup, I reconnected my app to the SPC and the profiles were loaded. As I write this, there has been no traffic tracked on any of the children's profiles. There is neither time tracked, or usage tracked. Ironically I had been happy with my experience up until now and was planning to pay for an annual subscription. Unless this can be resolved soon, I shall have to look into another solution. Please let me know if there is anything I can supply to aid in the troubleshooting of this issue. For the past 2 months or so, I've been experiencing major connection consistency issues such as fluctuating ping, reduced internet speeds, and even disconnections with my RAX75. I contacted the customer support from my ISP to see if there was any problems on their end, only for them to tell me it was a local issue. On Sunday, I decided to replace the router with the RAX120 and everything was running buttery smooth up until a couple of hours ago when I reconnected my Nighthawk EAX80 extender. NETGEAR armor sent me 5 threat reports of DDOS attacks blocked from the EAX80 and my Internet speeds were almost simulataneously destroyed. Every time I attempt to read the details of the threat reports the, app crashes. What are my options here?1.7KViews0likes2Comments
