Can I run SONOS speakers on Orbi 2.4ghz network? I keep trying to connect to Orbi network and I even get a message that it is configured and connected but when I try it, the network has reverted back to my previous network which only covers part of our home. When I configure, I do have a SONOS speaker plugged in to the ethernet. Orbi states that it provides a 2.4ghz network and SONOS states that it requires a 2.4ghz network, so it should be working??SolvedR9000 not allowing some wired devices to connect
My R9000 has been working great for months but over the last 2 days all of my Sonos devices (all hard wired to the network) have stopped working. Nothing about my configuration has changed - no R9000 firmware updates - these devices have all stopped working. They show up under the Netgear Admin Portal / Advanced / Security / Access Control list of "allowed devices not currently connected to the network" - yet none of them are connected. I removed all of them from this list and then unplugged / restarted each device - they slowly start appreaing on this "not connected" list which tells me the R9000 gives them a DHCP address but for some reason they aren't connecting. They are the only devices that aren't connected - all other wired devices work. Maybe this is a Sonos thing?Solved2.4KViews0likes2CommentsOrbi RBR50 and Sonos Playbar
I have tried to use one of the ethernet ports on the back of the RBR50 satellite unit to the Sonos Playbar and it brought down the satellite unit (lost its connection to the base). The base router was no longer able to sync with the satellite. The satellite was not getting an IP. Not until I unplugged the satellite it from the Sonos Playbar did everything function normal again. I am back to using the Playbar over wifi which works great. Has anyone had this problem?SONOS & ORBI : FW V1.5.0.12 - not working anymore
since FW 1.5.0.12 - my sonos system is constantly loosing its connection - tried different seups, the only setup which works at the moment is nr 4. as soon as the SONOS players and the ORBI system are in the same network, something went wrong like disappearing SONOS player / sonos players are loosing their ip adress ( tested also with static adress, but with no success) - SONOS customer care team has checked the players and found out that a heavy multicast traffic is causing the bridge disconnects and suggested to separate both. but before that FW update, the system was set up like nr 1 and was working! setup: 1.modem (AVM fritzbox, WLan disabled) --> Orbi (Router mode)--> SONOS Bridge via ethernet 2.modem (AVM fritzbox, WLan disabled) --> Orbi ( AP mode) --> SONOS Bridge via ethernet 3.Modem (AVM fritzbox, WLan disabled) --> SONOS Bridge via ethernet port 1 & Orbi ( AC mode) via ethnernet port 2 of the modem 4.Modem (AVM fritzbox, WLan disabled) --> SONOS Bridge via ethernet port 1 & Orbi ( Router mode) via ethnernet port 2 of the modem main issue with setup 4 - the SONOS brigde gets an IP from the modem´s DHCP while all other computers/tablets connecting wirelessly to the ORBIs other DHCP range --> resulting : the android controller is not seeing the SONOS players ( any suggestion like static routing ?)SolvedCan satellite WiFi be turned off?
I have two satellite Orbi with all the latest updates. I need the satellites to provide Wired internet connections. I do not need theml for WiFi coverage. Sonos says their audio systems not work with WiFi systems using Range Extenders, They say nothing about mesh - that said it is my understanding the Orbi system is technically not a mesh system. When I attempted to setup the Sonos, things were OK until I walked away from the Speaker. As I walked into another part of the house, the music stopped and my iPhone told me the Sonos was not connected to the network. I do know that iPhones will pick among signals to use the network signal providing the greatest bandwidth and signal strength - looking for both 2.4 and 5 GHz signals. It occured to me if I turned the WiFi from the satellites off, I might be able to get things working. Other suggestions/solutions will be appreciated.
StefanSolved
