3 TopicsSlow Netflix Speeds on TiVo Wired to Orbi Satellite
I have an Orbi system set up with the router in my basement, Satellite 1 on the first floor and Satellite 2 on the second floor. Wireless speed is pegged at 120 Mbps down for devices where I can measure speed (iPads, iPhones, HP desktop, lenovo laptop) when connected to satellites or router. Wired to Satellite 2, with wireless adapter turned off on the desktop and laptop each show 1Gbps connection and internet download speeds pegged at 120 Mbps. Here's my issue. I have a TiVo Bolt+ wired to Satellite 1 and a TiVo mini wired to Satellite 2 (both with cat6 cables). Through the Netflix app on the Bolt+, I consistently see 33 Mbps download speed wired AND wireless when I disconnect the cable. Through the Netflix app on the Mini, I see 6 Mbps download speed wired. Has anyone else seen speed download limitations with TiVos connected to Orbis in this way? Any solutions? How would you suggest I add another router to my Orbi system so I can have satellite ethernet port?
I bought the Orbi system which has been working very well. I have a tivo mini in my bedroom the requires a wired ethernet port. Neither the satellite nor the main router is in the bedroom. So, two questions: 1) can I just add a cheaper netgear router in my bedroom to join the orbi network so I can add an ethernet port fo rmy tivo to plug into? 2) Which netgear device would you recommend? I need something the transmits very quickly as Tivo demands lots of bandwidth. Thank you in advance!port blocking issues with X8 (UDP, TCP)
Hi. First time posting. I need to confirm that the X8 is not set to block certain UDP ports (37, 123) or TCP ports (37, 80, 443, 5005, 5222, 5223, or 7287). I've looked through the routerlogin.net menus and can't figure out where to find this information. Background: I searched the community quite a bit and didn't find anything on this issue. I have a TiVo (Premiere XL) and I have the Nighthawk X8. They're connecting via wifi. Everything was working fine for a few weeks, great connection. Then the Amazon app on TiVo started malfunctioning. The screen would freeze up and I'd have to reboot. I talked with TiVo support and with my ISP, and the diagnostics reported this (possible) port blocking issue. Help sorting it out would be appreciated. Thanks.Solved4.7KViews0likes3Comments
