1 TopicWDC WD6002FRYZ-31WD5B0 bad or compatibility issue?
Hello, I've installed a new hard drive Disk Model:WDC WD6002FRYZ-31WD5B0 to replace another one in my unit ReadyNAS 4220. The hard drive is listed on ReadyNAS Hard Disk Compatibility List This disk should be compatible based on the test result of another disk in the same series from the disk manufacturer. https://kb.netgear.com/20641/ReadyNAS-Hard-Disk-Compatibility-List?cid=wmt_netgear_organic I have exported the logs from the unit and can see as follows: 1) disk_info log: Device: sdf Controller: 0 Channel: 1 Model: WDC WD6002FRYZ-31WD5B0 Firmware: 01.01MS3 Class: SATA RPM: 7200 Sectors: 11721045168 Health data ATA Error Count: 0 Reallocated Sectors: 0 Reallocation Events: 0 Spin Retry Count: 0 Current Pending Sector Count: 0 Uncorrectable Sector Count: 0 Temperature: 37 Start/Stop Count: 2 Power-On Hours: 1 Power Cycle Count: 2 Load Cycle Count: 2 2) systemd-journal is full of Mar 20 20:11:40 nasXXXXX kernel: ata2.00: status: { DRDY ERR } Mar 20 20:11:40 nasXXXXX kernel: ata2.00: error: { ABRT } Mar 20 20:11:40 nasXXXXX kernel: ata2.00: configured for UDMA/133 Mar 20 20:11:40 nasXXXXX kernel: ata2: EH complete Mar 20 20:11:40 nasXXXXX kernel: ata2.00: exception Emask 0x0 SAct 0x0 SErr 0x0 action 0x0 Mar 20 20:11:40 nasXXXXX kernel: ata2.00: irq_stat 0x40000001 Mar 20 20:11:40 nasXXXXX kernel: ata2.00: failed command: READ DMA EXT Mar 20 20:11:40 nasXXXXX kernel: ata2.00: cmd 25/00:08:00:f4:a0/00:00:ba:02:00/e0 tag 15 dma 4096 in res 51/04:08:00:f4:a0/00:00:ba:02:00/40 Emask 0x1 (device error) I'm almost sure the hard drive needs to be replaced again. But before I get a 2nd exactly the same one I would appreciate if someone could confirm that the particular model is really compatible. Thank in advance!
