I just received an email "Important Security Firmware Update from NETGEAR." I have a WN3000RPv3 and successfully downloaded the zip. The Readme file tells me "Do not upgrade the firmware using a wireless connection. Please perform firmware upgrade with “wired” or Ethernet connection only." However I do not have a computer with an Ethernet port. My Yoga 2 Pro laptop only has wi-fi connectivity to the internet. I can use an Ethernet cable to connect the extender to my router by bringing it upstairs, and plugging it into a nearby wall for power. But I still have to use wi-fi to connect my laptop to the URL "http://www.mywifiext.net" to execute the "Maintenance > Firmware Upgrade" step. I tried it anyway, but then got blocked with a 401 error by not remembering whatever username and password the extender at that URL is expecting.864Views0likes2CommentsMy iPhone connects to my extender but doesn't switch to home wifi when I change rooms!
Hi everyone! Minor problem really but kind of bugging... I have set up my extender in my flat and it works fine - I can now access wifi from the loo ;-) BUT... as I move around my home, I find my phone stays connected to the extender as opposed to automatically connecting to my home router, resulting in a weak-to-non-existant signal. I have to manually switch to my home router in iPhone's settings to access home wifi. As I said, a total first-world problem, but here I am anyway, asking for help! Happy for any tips :-) /Mauricey5.3KViews0likes2CommentsNo Internet connection
Worked fine yesterday. Today not internet connection. Devices have a strong signal from the extentor, but "no internet connection. LEDs indicate that the extender is connected to the rounter. All devices work fine when connected to the rounter. Rebooted devices, rounter, and reset the extendor. No change, still "no internet connection".3.2KViews0likes2CommentsWireless devices connected to WN3000RPv3 but no data (after FW upgrade)
I have just recently upgraded my N300 extender to the latest firmware package available (1.0.2.24). This was because I was having difficulty connecting several devices (iOS) to the WiFi. After the firmware upgrade all my devices are connecting, but they are not getting beyond the repeater to the router and all network access is refused. I can see that the extender has been assigned 192.168.1.250 and that is what my devices are using as Gateway/DNS. I have a wired device connected to the extender (via a switch) and that is getting a Gateway/DNS of 192.168.1.254 and is functioning just fine. So why are devices going through WiFi not getting through. Any steps I can take to remedy this issue?3.4KViews0likes3Comments
