We're trying to lock down our ReadyNAS so that only a certain group in AD can log into the ReadyNAS device's admin page. There are three IT admins in the company, and we only want those AD accounts, along with the local admin account, to have access to the admin page. We've added the device to our AD through the Authentication section for users, and can see all the users in our AD, but cannot see groups or set permissions to the admin page at all. Is this possible? Our current firmware is 6.8.0Solved1.3KViews0likes1CommentReadyNAS 3138 in Ready Only Mode
I removed a couple of LUNs that were no longer in use. Suddenly, all the shares became read only. The data is still there, but the permissions on the NAS web interface do not match the Active Directory permissions. I can't edit the permissions from the web interface or from Windows explorer. My users can access shares, but new data cannot be written.Solved1.3KViews0likes2CommentsReadyNAS 4220: errors creating shares, creating folders, etc... Nothing working.
Model = ReadyNAS 4220 Firmware = v6.9.3 Issue: Unable to create new folders in any share; unable to create new shares Issue began a couple weeks ago; AD users with rights (they are actually domain admins) *and* local administrative account get errors indicating insufficient rights to create new folders. Attempted to create new shares with various names; getting errors indicating share name is invalid or already in use (not the case). Attempted to change rights on existing shares; getting completely useless error indicating "commit failed". Available space is 11.x terabytes out of 36 terabytes. Also attached are the log output from the ReadyNAS. Factory reset of the unit isn't an option; we need to be able to fix whatever the problem is. Google searches of this and related issues yield nothing of use. Attached is image of all three error for different issues described above; unable to upload logs because this board won't accept it. The "labels" required at the right of this post have nothing to do with the error; no clue why I can't enter relevant labels. Thanks. We have a few of these ReadyNAS's, all domain joined for users. We recently started using the built in home folder function, but are finding some users are unable to access their folder. I found that the owner and group for the users home directory is set to a different account. I can fix it using a chown command, but I'd like to know why it is happening in the first place. I've tried leaving the domain and rejoining it, but same result. I'm also seeing home folders for long deleted users. Does the ReadyNAS not purge these folders when the user is no longer in the domain?1.5KViews0likes5CommentsLooking to change the DIRECTORY SERVER ADDRESS in ReadyNAS 3312

Hello. My NAS is member AD domain 2008R2 I removed the checkbox allow anonimus access, and my domain users from windows pc which in domain have access well. But i have several win and linux pc and MFU (which should save scans in smb folder) which not in domain. I used domain user's credentials (like domain\user), but dont got acces to share. On linux i tried several methods (fstab, in filemanager in smbclient) to check access, but without success. smbclient -W domain -U user //nas/test session setup failed: NT_STATUS_LOGON_FAILURE How can I access from a computer that is not in the domain?1.8KViews0likes4Comments
