Using wifi router as an access point
OK, this is an oldie but a goldie! I have an old Netgear FWAG114 a/b/g wireless router that I'm using as an access point. I've disabled DHCP (my Netgear WNR2000 is assigning IP addreses) and connected it to the WNR2000 - port 1 on the 2000, WAN port on the FWAG114. NADA!!! If I connect it to one of the LAN ports on the FWAG114 it works fine. The kicker is, I used a setup similar to this with my Netgear FVS338/WAG304 and the FWAG114 for about 5 years and it worked perfectly connected via the WAN port. Any ideas???

BT OpenReach FVS336Gv2
When I conect my Netgear ProSafe FVS336Gv2 ro my BT openreach Modem it nworks fine. Soon as I switch it to Classic Routing to prepare setup my computers iusing the 5 fixed IP numbers I have pruchased with BT I get no DNS. It' os working fine on NAT, not on Classic, with or without DHCP. It say's I am connected in the WAN Status and PPPOE is connected. I just get no web browsing at all :-( DNS appears to be not working. Is Classic really not doing any routing at all it seems ?!

Product replacement for FVS336GV2
Hello the community, I'm searching an actual product able to replace the FVS336GV2, I don't need WIFI, just 2 LAN connection and the most important is the VPN possibility with the old NETGEAR ProSafe VPN client. Thanks for answer me. Regards Damien

Which routers are VPN servers?
Is there a simple way to find out which Netgear routers can be configured to be VPN servers? This is not one of the search criteria options and even when looking at the individual specifications, it's hard to tell if a model supports this feature or not.

FVS336G How enable for Spanning Tree Protocol?
Hello, I am using the product FVS336G as my router & firewall. I have noticed that it does not work with my 4 Sonos music players if they are connected to different ports of FVS336G. I researched this issue. This effect is apparently due to the fact that FVS336G does not support STP, "Spanning Tree Protocol". My question: Is there a way to enable Spanning Tree Protocol ability in FVS336G? Thanks mdl9107

FVS318G VPN failure
I have a FSV318G for years. I'm using shrewsoft VPN client to to connect to it from multiple locations and its worked for months and months with no problems until last thursday... Now I can't connect to the VPN router from any client. Shrewsoft client output: config loaded for site 'office.vpn' attached to key daemon ... peer configured iskamp proposal configured esp proposal configured client configured local id configured remote id configured pre-shared key configured bringing up tunnel ... network device configured tunnel enabled negotiation timout occurred tunnel disabled detached from key daemon Which usually indicates that phase one completes.
