I have a c7000v2 Netgear router/modem. I am trying to install a NAS to the USB port located at the top of the router. I have a 64 Gig Flash drive plugged in. When I log into the router, the Genie software runs. At the home tab the USB Icon in the middle of the second row shows a green READY notation. When I click on the USB icon/button it takes me to a second screen showing USB Storage (Basic Settings). Basic radio button is pushed. Network/Device name is listed as \\readyshare. Available Network Folders has NO DEVICE LISTED. Buttons EDIT and Safely Remove USB Device are AVAILABLE. (When no Flash drive in USB Port these buttons are not available.) Under the Advanced Tab/Advanced Setup/USB Settings I have Enable any USB Device connected to the USB port YES. When I click on Approved Devices I see my USB Drive name listed under Available Devices Device Name Is Generic USB Storage and space is 60 gig. I selected it with the radio button and added it to the Approved Devices List. The Allow Only Approved Devices check box IS NOT CHECKED. These Setting have been saved. After all of this and pressing Refresh a couple of times after a few minutes, the Basic Settings still DOES NOT LIST MY DEVICE. I cannot find this device on my network although with windows I can see \\readyshare available under NETWORKS. However clicking on it shows nothing and I cannot copy anything to it. The Flash drive is formatted NTFS and there are a couple of folders created at the root level. Any help getting my flash drive to show up in the USB Basic settings I feel would correct the problem but I cannot figure out what else to do. Any help would be GREATLY APPREIATED. REGARDS and THANKS FOR READING and RESPONDING.1.2KViews0likes2CommentsCannot update firmware on C7000v2. Cannot change timezone.
Bear with me, as I will provide all the details of the steps I've taken to remedy this issue (that I genuinely think there may not be a solution to). Today, I setup a used Nighthawk AC1900 (C7000v2) with Spectrum ISP. All went swimmingly, but where I began to run into issues is through the Nighthawk app throwing "firmware needs to be updated, proceed to routerlogin.net", and blocking me from utilizing the app. Following the link to routerlogin.net led me to page that implied I wasn't connected to the router (I was). As an alternative, I accessed Netgear Genie via gateway IP address. I noticed that the firmware was a good bit out of date, but I was not getting thrown a "firmware update available" message. I read through many other threads that: This is likely the most recent firmware that Spectrum supports, and that I may be at a dead end it's possible that the timezone of my router is not appropriately set As there's not a whole lot I can do about Item A, I worked to resolve Item B. Found some videos online implying that the way to change this timezone setting is through Advanced->Security->Schedule (or Email in some cases). In all of those videos, there is a timezone dropdown at the bottom of either the Schedule or Email section. In my case, the screen looks near identical to those videos, EXCEPT there is no Timezone modifier. HOWEVER, I notice in the Schedule section that it provides a static current time line that reads 1 hour behind my actual current time. I've attached screenshots of the Schedule and Email sections of Genie for reference. So, Netgear Gang, I have two questions here: Am I completely out of luck updating firmware until Spectrum magically decides to support something more recent than v1.02.09? And with that, am I doing myself a disservice/killing my speeds in long run by even using the Nighthawk? HOW CAN I CHANGE THE TIME ZONE?!?!?!? I'll tag a few folks that I've seen respond to other threads regarding this matter: plemans FURRYe38 Thanks in advance to anyone who responds, Patrick1.6KViews1like1Commentsync time synchoniztaion failure, streaming buffering
I started having issues with select streaming services buffering about a month ago. I installed cm1000v2 modem with eero mesh system and the problem sill persists. The log shows sync time synchonization failure errors. I don't know anything about networks and errors. Called Netgear router help line and was told I need to activate security on the modem which is only free for the first week and then I have to pay $149 a year?? So I don't think I should have to pay for my router to work, and honestly since this started before this router was installed I have no confidence that paying will fix the problem. Can anyone help me understand if this is a Netgear issue or an ISP issue? Or another issue? I am nearing my wits end with my streaming not working! I have 500 Mbps speed, have unplugged and replugged, uninstalled and reinstalled, changed my whole Internet system, called Hulu support, emailed peacock support, nobody will tell me how to fix. No uncorrectable codewords in log, argh!Solved17KViews0likes12CommentsC7800V2 Connection Drops multiple times a day
Network Provider: COX Router: C7800V2 Firmware: V6.01.07 Connection: Wireless DL/UL Speed Test: 300/ 50 MB Hi there, I am using my C7800V2 for over a year without any issues, recently it started dropping connection multiple times during the day, so that I have to restart at least 5 times a day. I connected to the router to check the configuration and settings, channel etc. but it is extremely slow, like its logging in then when I select Advanced/ Administration/ Wireless Channel it takes forever spinning and then nothing happens. I tried the troubleshoot steps but would like to know why is the internal connection to the Genie Admin page not working properly. I am going to try a wired connection to the router to check the admin page. Any input is highly appreciated, thanksSolved2.8KViews0likes16CommentsCM1150V Howto Do Port Forwarding
How do I configure port forwarding on my CM1150V cable modem? I must have done it before but I have forgotten how. The Nighthawk app doesn't seem to provide support for this modem. I have also tried connecting to 192.168.100.1 (Netgear genie) but cannot find port forwarding there.Solved2.2KViews0likes3CommentsNo connection to C6300v2
My xfinity wifi signal is strong but I essentially cannot use it right now. I’m unable to connect to my cable modem, I can’t login to the Nighthawk app (get a “logon timed out” message no matter what), and when I did a factory reset and new setup, the app still tells me it cannot find my device. I get a “WiFi not detected” even when my device is technically on the wifi network.1.1KViews0likes1CommentNetwork switch not working with Modem/Router
Hello, I recently attempted to install a network switch on my Netgear modem/router. My house is pre-wired so it was an easy plug and play. I had to dismount an TV to connect to ethernet and initially when I plug everything up it was working fine. Now my modem/router recognizes that something is plug into the Ethernet port (the number 2 port is lit and flashing) but my devices connected to the switch so not have internet. Furthermore, initially (when things were working) I could see the switch in my nighthawk app under devices. Now I dont see a hard wired device at all. I am confused because visually the router recognizes that something is plugged in but the nighthawk app doesn’t and I think this is why I am not getting an internet connection to the switch. Does anyone have an idea of why this could be happening? Thanks!Solved6.3KViews0likes5CommentsC7800 router firmware wont update, Outlook has trouble synchronizing with microsoft exchange
My Nighthawk Cable Modem Router C7800 won't give me the option to update the firmware. It tells me it's outdated in my nighthawk app, but then won't give me the option to update in router settings. I've updated my time zone as someone else suggested. That did not work for me and getting an update. Mediacom says they can't update it and Netgear says the ISP has to push it. I'm not having real connectivity issues except for when I work from home my outlook app does not communicate with Microsoft Exchange freely and freezing every 5-10 minutes. That may be a separate issue, but either way would like both resolved. Any potential solutions would be great.683Views0likes1CommentNetgear Nighthawk CAX80 + 1.2Gbps Xfinity Internet + Windows 11 Home + Driver version 22.160.0.4
Modem + Router: Netgear Nighthawk CAX80 ISP: Xfinity Comcast 1.2Gbps OS: Windows fully updated to Windows 11 Home 22H2 Device firmware/hardware has been fully updated from Lenovo Vantage + individually from Lenovo's recommended driver download page. WiFi speed tests always show no more than 150_down and 40_up >> back on my old router I was getting 400-500mbps when my Xfinity Comcast Internet was at 800Mbps. Is anyone else having this issue? or is it isolated to my device crapping out in about a year.. I've played around with a lot of systems/network adapters/etc.. settings, but does anyone have any recommendations on preferred settings to get my WiFi speed test results to be 500mbps+? Even though my speed looks slow it it definitely doesn't act like it and I got a pretty decked-out device.. the speedtest just keeps giving me doo doo results. I own a Netgear C7000v2 and connected to it is a Raspberry Pi 4b 8GB PC running CasaOS and Pi Hole as a docker. Here is the configuration problem I am experiencing. To allow Pi Hole docker to block ads at a network wide level I need it to take over DHCP Server duties. So this requires I disable the DHCP server in the Netgear Genie app (see RED circled text in JPG below). However, when I disable it and hit "APPLY" the router displays the message below: "Please change your computer IP address manually if LAN IP subnet will be changed" When I hit the OK button for the message shown above the result is I lose all internet connection. The only option I have left after this happens is to perform a Factory Reset operation on the router. My question is, how do I disable the Netgear Genie DHCP Server parameter without losing internet access? I have performed a total of 5 factory resets on my router. So I hope somebody in this community can help me so I can stop performing Factory Resets on my router. 🙂 My goal is to setup Pi Hole at a local area network so that all devices are automatically protected against unwanted ads and tracking. Any assistance will be greatly appreciated. Thank you for your time.1.6KViews1like0Comments
