I'm having a problem with backups on my ReadyNas Duo v1. I've just reinstalled my Windows 10 Home PC and I am now getting "Remote access error for Backup Job". I've been trying various ways to get this going for a couple of days now, some of the things I've tried are: Share I am trying to get to has full access granted to my Microsoft account, a local windows account and Everyone. Accessing the share from another PC using the Microsoft account and the local windows account I have tried entering my Microsoft account the local windows account and nothing the login and password fields SMB 1.0/CIFS client and server are both on, automatic removal is off Firewall on and off. Updating ReadyNas Frontview firmware to 4.1.16 When I try Test connection I get an "error connecting" message, if I put //PCName in the host I get successfully connected but I still get the remote access error I am now out of ideas so if anyone can help it would be very appreciated. I have a ReadyNAS Ultra 4 running RAIDiator 4.2.31 , and I am looking to move to a ReadyNAS OS 6 device as gracefully as possible. My current NAS is not damaged or dead, so no emergencies - I just want to minimize the amount of work I need to do to make the move happen. My current plan is to back up all the data onto an external drive, move the drives to the new chassis (which will wipe them), and then restore the data. So far, this part is fine. My question comes down to the settings - if I back up the settings on RAIDiator 4.2.31 (IP, Shares, Users & Security, etc.), can I restore them onto to OS 6 device? Is there another graceful way of migrating all my settings, so that I do not need to re-create them all by hand and reset permissions? Thank you!849Views0likes2CommentsREadyNAS RN21400 with OS 6 Dropbox Authorization hangs
Cannot turn on Dropbox. I'm attempting to set up a Dropbox sync with our RN21400 ReadyNAS for backups. After going to admin page and going to the cloud tab, I'm trying to enable "Sync with Dropbox" but after switching this from "off" to "on" a pop-up redirect page for Dropbox authorization appears and just hangs. this happens with Chrome and Internet Explorer. I have also tried a different computer. I also to add the Google public DNS 8.8.8.8 as primary as well just in case.2.2KViews0likes10CommentsReadyNAS - Multiple Azure Backups with different versions?
Hi all, I'm running a ReadyNAS 100 series with 6.9.1 firmware The end result I am trying to achieve is having the shares on the NAS backed up to Azure with multiple versions so I can recover a file if it is deleted accidently. If a file is accidently deleted from the NAS I want to be able to flick over the Azure and recover the file, currently it looks like it is doing a 1:1 sync which means an accidental deletion is not recoverable in Azure. How can I get this going as the Synology I have allows me to use HyperBackup to backup at certain times directly to a third party cloud provider with versioning - hopefully there is something close to this on a Netgear. Any help/advice is greatly appreciated Thanks Adam1.4KViews0likes2CommentsBacking up a 1TB RNDU4000 to Cloud, what cloud ?
Im confused about the Netgear cloud functions. For a RNU4000 with firmware 4.2.31 What cloud backup can I use ? I need 1 TB storage. Does Netgear have a solution for this or should I look for others? Will my NAS support other cloud backup solutions ?1.1KViews0likes5Commentsbackups from pc failing after upgrade
after installing the upgrade 6.9.0 my backups from my PC no longer work the backups ( 15 of them ) all start and remain in the " in progress" state. in previous version they remained in the " in queue" state until next one could be actioned - now they all go to in progress straight away but dont do anything. on testing the source, I find that it is reporting invalid user name or password. my PC access is not protected by user name or password and in the previous version there was no problem with access of the PC with these fields left blank. the only thing that has changed is the update to 6.9.0. please advise... I have no backups running now since the upgrade to 6.9.0.Solved12KViews1like34CommentsBackup to USB drive fails
I have tried to use a Powered Seagate USB drive (Mystorage 3.0) to backup the data folders on our Netgear Readynas 314. The external backup drive has been cleanly formatted with Seagate's Format utility as FAT32. The drive initially displays as a volume in the ReadyNAS and I setup a backup and click start. After 5-10 mins it fails saying unable to create files/folders on drive. Then the drive disappears as a volume until I reboot the NAS drive. We have the latest bios and the Seagate external drive works fine on several laptops and PC's.2.5KViews0likes11CommentsReadynas 102 restarts services constantly - unable to access data.
My ReadyNas 102 running firmware 6.7.4, seems to be constantly restarting services. I'm sometimes able to see the shares... sometimes even get a few files..., but then it "disappears" and the network location is gone. ... until a minute or so later. Even the web-ui ... I'm sometimes able to see the status-screen before it jumps back into a loading-page waiting for the ui to become responsive again. I've tried reinstalling the OS, but it didn't work. I was thinking about flashing new firmware, but that requires the services to be open long enough for the process to finish.... Is it possible to connect the drive to a computer - windows or linux... and get the data through USB? The drive seems to be ok, although; It's the remains of a degraded RAID-1 setup. I can't seem to find a solution anywhere, at least no posts with working links. The unit has about 8TB usable storage. I had 5GB reserved for a private Time Machine, which was nearly filled up, along with 3 for the shared Time Machine. About 5TB were used for the Time Machine and other items. Now, if I navigate to Time Machine settings, it says only 3TB are available, so the 5TB is showing up as used data, when it's supposed to be the Time Machine. I tried updating FW, rebooting, but the software won't recognize that Time Machine data as being Time Machine data, so it'll only let me use the remaining 3. Time Machine on the iMac shows that 0 of 3TB are available for backups, but before this, it said 500GB of 5TB were available. It's annoying me and I really don't want to disable/enable Time Machine to wipe my existing sparbundle file since I will likely need to access the old time machine backups in the future. Any ideas anyone? I appreciate it!851Views0likes2Comments
