873 TopicsRBS40V used in existing RBK23, do I need to downgrade FW for the RBR/RBS20?
I am looking to buy a used rbs40v to ne added as the 3rd satellite in my existing rbk23 mesh, but I Noticed that on the support site, the most recent fw version for rbs40v is 2.6.2.8, but my rbr20 and rbs20 run 2.7.4.24 as the most recent version. Back in the days when I Do I need to downgrade my rbr20 and rbs20 to 2.6.2.104 (the only 2.6.2.x series) and stay in that edition forever in order to add the rbs40v? Or can this rbs40v be upgraded to 2.7.4.24 like its regular cousin (rbs40 without the alexa)? Thanks a lot.SolvedFirmware Update Nightmares - The Never Ending Saga...
It's been almost 1 year since my Orbi has been unplugged, serving as a $400 brick in the corner of my shelf, still staring at my Orbi everyday, as a reminder that this company wasted $400 (plus tax) of my hard earned money. Part of me wants to cry, and the other part of me silent, angered, betrayed a company could ever do this to its customers. I have moved on to the Netgear XR500 Gaming Router ($300) the past year. A decision I don't regret as the brand is still Netgear. Let the stories begin...SolvedIs an upgrade in order
I currently have the ORBI AC3000 (RBK53) and it has been in operation for the past 3 years. I wonder if it would make sense to upgrade to something like the ORBI AX5400 (RBK763)? I just recently reconfigured the RBK53 from all AP (Access Points) to a router and the two satellites. My Cisco router and firewall was quite old and I could not get any updates as it is no longer available, hence, the redoing the ORBI configuration. I have about 35 devices on the network and the RBK763 provides greater square footage coverage. Any thoughts DonUsing ORBI with Nighthawk router
I have an ORBI RBR850 and RBR50 in AP mode. I'm doing this because I need 2 Outdoor satellites to reach further on a 2+ acre site. Total of 6 satellites in use. I'd like to add a separate system for a new barn and share ONLY internet access. The SSIDs would be different. Can I use a Nighthawk Router and use wired Ethernet from an ORBI satellite to the WAN input of a router?Issue with Netgear Orbi Mesh Router system: Router: RBR40 (2 Satellites: RBW30)
The problem I have is that my computer keeps connecting to a satellite which has a poor signal instead of the satellite which is closest to my computer. I want to force the computer to connect to a specific satellite with the strongest signal. Within the administration app (or website), I cannot find my MacBook Pro listed anywhere so I can't see what it is connecting to but it is definitely not connecting to the closest satellite. We have a Netgear Orbi Mesh Router system: Router: RBR40 2 Satellites: RBW30 Orbi Voice Speaker (which is also a satellite): RBS40V The Router & Speaker or on the first floor. One Satellite is on the 2nd floor, the other is in the basement. I'm working in a 2nd floor bedroom which is close to the speaker (one room over & below me) and right above the Basement Satellite (two floors down) and a bit farther from the 2nd floor Satellite (but that's on the same floor). The Router is at the other end of the house so it should never really connect to that. The problem which I originally had was that the Speaker connected to the main router and then the Satellites connected to the Speaker (daisy chain) which meant that all the internet traffic for most of the devices in the house went through the Speaker which I don't think is capable of handling that traffic. Even though I had a strong connection to the Speaker (full signal on computer WiFi icon), the internet would often break up or pause on video calls. I turned off the Daisy Chain option to force each Satellite to connect directly to the Router. After that, the computer had a weaker signal (just 2 "bars" on the computer icon) so I'm connecting to a different Satellite and it won't switch to a stronger signal. I also enabled Fast Switching & Beam Forming yesterday but that doesn't seem to help. Questions: 1) How can I get my computer to show up in the list of devices? I've already checked the Disconnected Devices list and it's not there. There is nothing in the Blocked Devices list. 2) How can I force the computer to connect to a specific Satellite? In this case it would be the Speaker. 2ORBI RBR20 does not work WPS feature with Nighthawk X6 EX7700 extender.
I was very impressed by WPS feature with two wonderful gears (EX7700, RBR20) before updating recent firmware. After updating recent firmware of them, WPS feature is now no longer working. WPS feature does not work anymore even with manual connect. Unfortunely, I forgot last firmware before updating of them. Is there any solution or issue about this? Please help this issue... I don't want to buy another wifi router by this problem....
