4 TopicsReadyNAS model comparison between home and business line products
I have an x86 ReadyNAS Pro 2 which I'll need to replace sooner or later. What are the main differences between the 2-bay consumer line models of the 200 series and the RN31200 models of the business line? Are there relevant differences in performance, or in the applications that they can run? Thanks, AndreasSolved4.4KViews0likes2CommentsReadyNas NV+ Upgrade Advice
I just received an email regarding the End of Life for my RND4000 (ReadyNas NV+). With that I am starting to for an upgrade unit. look Are there any resources available which would detail the best and hopefully easiest way to have to upgrade my unit (I was thinking the RN204) or am I going to have start from scratch regarding all my settings, data, etc? I know it would be to much to ask that the drives could just be swapped and magically everything was working. Thanks for any advice.2.7KViews0likes2CommentsStay away from ReadyNAS (and Netgear) if you want support after the warranty is up.
I have a ReadyNAS product that had a power supply failure literally 5 days after the 5 YEAR warranty expired. Netgear's answer: Tough luck, the unit is out of warranty, was end of life some time ago and we won't do anything for you. Go buy a brand new ReadyNAS unit that is compatible and you can maybe get your data. Well, I "fixed" my unit by hooking it up to a PC power supply (there was nothing special about the power supply other than size), and I'm using it for the moment, but once I decide my path going forward, it won't be with any Netgear products. If you want to be sure that you can get to your data, I suggest you look somewhere else, with a company that actually supports their end users instead of telling them too bad, you're screwed.6.4KViews0likes20CommentsWeb interface for Offline Use?
Hi, I'm off to buy a Netgear RN10400-100AJS tomorrow. My question is. Do these have the usual normal Web interface via the devices IP address? Our application is for "Offline" use. IE. No Internet connection on our LAN. Can we access all features without Internet access or having to run custom software on a PC? .-.-.4.7KViews0likes13Comments
