Love the router so far, but could use a little help. I have a FiOS Gateway Router MI424wr, which is has lousy wi-fi range. So, I bought this router to help me better manage my connections and improve my range. My whole house is hard wired (4 ports = 4 wired rooms). I set up the router in my office. Set up only worked when I connected my pc directly to the router (with the router plugged into my Netgear ProSafe 5 switch). Wi-fi is working great. But, I want to move the router to the family room so it is centered in the house (connecting to the hard wire switch in that room). However, when I plug my office pc back into the office switch, i can no longer access the router (using the Genie app or the www.routerlogin.net address). I reconnected my pc directly to a router port and could once again access the router controls through the Genie app and www.routerlogin.net. Do I need to be directly connected to the router to control it? Running Windows 10 FiOS Actiontec MI424wr Gateway (I have turned off the wi-fi feature to use the new router). Thanks! I have been using the EX2700 WiFi Range extender for roughly 6 months without any problems however in the last week it has stopped working. It still connects to my WiFi router (all the appropriate lights are on) but when I connect to it on my laptop or mobile phone, there is no internet connection. I have followed all the troubleshooting instructions on this website and nothing has improved. I have reset the extender, forgotten the wifi network on my laptop/phone and reconnected yet still the same result. I found out I am apparently not eligible for customer support after just 90 days which is absolutely ridiculous. I should be able to call someone without paying a ridiculous cost just to receive some help. Asking on here is pretty much a last ditch effort, nothing else has been able to help so far unfortunately, hopefully somebody here can help3.5KViews0likes1CommentNot connecting to 5GHz ?
I have a Netgear R6250 and unable to connect to 5GHz. My TV recognizes both 5GHz and 1.4GHz, but the 5GHz will not connect. My PC is not even showing the 5GHz in my internet connection box. Called support. They had me rename the 2 router settings as they were in still the default names. This did not solve my issue. Any help sincerely appreciated.Solved
