Hello, I have lately been having problems with the DLNA. I use the RN to store all my videos and watch them through my Samsung TV USING DLNA. I think all started after upgrading to 6.8.1. My setup is the same for years and I notished the issue after the upgrade. Now when I’m watching a video it will stop and the TV will through an error message “check your network connection” rendering impossible to watch videos. I tried restarting my router but with no lack. I also tried viewing a video from my mobile device and it will freeze. I will try to upgrade to the latest fw and check if the problem persists. Can you point the location for logs related to DLNA? There might be something there regarding the disconnects. Thx in advance1.7KViews0likes5CommentsAnti-Virus Update Breaks Tivo DLNA Server
I was able to view pictures from my NAS through my Tivo last night, but this morning could not. The only thing that had changed in those few hours was an update to the virus definitions. When I turn real-time anti-virus protection off, I am able to view photos through the Tivo. I suspect something in the anti-virus update broke the Tivo server function. I can't post a bug report because my unit is more than 90 days old. Any help would be appreciated.Solved2.7KViews0likes2CommentsReadyNAS 102 update 6.5.1 and 6.5.2 DLNA not showing all files on devices.
ReadyNAS 102 update 6.5.1 and 6.5.2 DLNA not showing all files on devices. After updating from 6.5.0 I am now missing folders and files, they won't show up. missing 27 from one folder but will show some new folders that have been added, it cuts off part way into the letter W and no new files showing up in another folder. I have had no issues until updating the firmware. I have rebooted, rescanned, shutdown. I have removed the server from all 3 SONY blu-ray players and shut them down and started back up adding the server. What else should I try? is there some limit to the number of folders or files I can place in one folder? Why would it show newly added folders but not the last 27 that have always been there?4.2KViews0likes8CommentsReadyNAS 104 DLNA Service Not Working.
I have a couple of ReadyNAS 104 that I am re-purposing, I have completely restored to default and then created a share on both boxes and enabled DLNA service, but I cannot see the two storage options from any of the 6 TV's that we have that are attached to the network, I can see an older ReadyNAS NV+ but not these two units, I have filled both with Movies and Films of various types and still nothing. Firmware 6.4.2, 1Gb Backbone. Any help would be much appreciated... JamesSolved7.7KViews0likes14CommentsDLNA problems
Hello, I have the ReadyNAS 104 and have problems with DLNA. With video files of about 13GB and higher in scenes with a high bitrate the picture freezes for a few seconds. I use a Philips TV that is connected by by RJ45. If I put this video on a USB it works perfectly The speed of the network is to 1Gb and works properly when copying files via SMB or NFS. If I mount an SMB unit on the PC accessing the NAS and minidlna on the PC, it works well. I tried it with ReadyDLNA, with Nerosharehome and the same. Comment that both the NAS and the PC are on the same switch. I tried to change the switch on the other but the same, I have lowered the speed of NIC to "100 / full" and "100 / half" and occurs the same. I have 2 days testing and my conclusion is that the NAS has some kind of problem with these files, anyone else have this problem? I feel badly written, if not by the translator could not expose my problem. Thank you,3.3KViews0likes3CommentsDLNA Continues to drop out RN104/6.4.2
Hi, I have a fully wired LAN. Running Firmware 6.4.2 It seems that every time a new update is about to be launched, my DLNA starts dropping out. I'll be sitting watching regualr TV and I'll keep getting messages popping up telling me the ReadyNas has connected to the LAN - like a new device hjas been added/PnP. And/or, if I'm streaming a move from the ReadyNas, it will suddenly stop playing and a hop over to the regular TV. I have to change TV input, browse to the folder and start the movie again. Normally, If I stop a movie at any part, I have the option to 'jump' back to it. When the ReadyNas drops out, I don't have this option It is very annoying. I also recently found the ReadyNas very, very slow. It wanted to build a FAT/Index everytime I looked for files - took ages. I have installed SMB plus and disabled the antivirus - this is what I found when I googled the problem - it seems to have helped the speed issue.2.5KViews0likes2CommentsCan't see new folders over DLNA on Samsung TVs
I have an RN102 with 6.4.2 installed. I now can't see newly created folders on my Samsung TV's over DLNA, it used to work OK. But I can see files if they are placed in already existing folders, just not new folders - not matter where they are placed in the hierarchy. I can see them via PC. I have tried rescanning the folders (which is already set to 'Auto') but they do not appear. The Video share settings are set to 'Anonymous' access. The share has DLNA, RSYNC and SMB protocols.Network access and File Access is to 'Read/Write' for 'Everyone'. Thanks Daniel2.3KViews0likes1Comment* ReadyDLNA Update Addons [Updated: 2014/11/13]

Change AVI MIME types so they will hopefully be more compatible with older playback devices. Handle strange filter arguments better. Deal with very large music libraries on XBox360. Fix auto-update handling of jman's sequence of copying a file, deleting that file, then copying the file again. I'm setting up a new ReadyNAS 104 (I've been using a ReadyNAS duo for a few years). On the duo I used ReadyDLNA to serve videos and pictures to my TV, using a Sony SNMP-200 media box. (I also use Logitech Media Server on the NAS to serve music to a number of Squeezeboxes). Briefly, I'm getting the error message "Folder operation failed. Username is unknown. Unknown user (65535). Code: 1002020823" when configuring ReadyDLNA on one specific share through the ReadyNAS 0S6 web interface. Rather than using the default shares (Documents, Music, Pictures and Videos) I wanted to replicate the set up on my duo, with all my content in a share called media. I've set up the media share, copied the files from the duo to the 104, and all is working, apart from ReadyDLNA. I've enabled the ReadyDLNA service, but I found that no playable files were found when I tried to browse them using the Sony SNMP-200. I concluded that ReadyDLNA wasn't looking in the right place, so to test this I put some music in the Music share, photos in the Pictures share, and video in the Video share, and then rescanned. Sure enough, the files I'd put in these 3 shares showed up and were playable - all well. I then spotted that I needed to enable ReadyDLNA on my "media" share - I looked at the settings on the Music, Pictures and Video shares, and recplicated these on my "media" share using the web interface. Finally I checked the file ownership settings of /data/media using SSH, and found that the owner of "media" was user "65534". "Great", I thought, "I've found the culprit". I changed /data/media this to "guest:guest" (i.e. user guest, group guest - same as the Music, Pictures and Video folders) using a chown command. Unfortunately I'm still getting the same error message when I try to enable ReadyDLNA on the "media" share through the ReadyDLNA web interface. Short of admitting defeat, and moving my content to the shares that work, does anyone have any ideas please? Thanks in advance for any help.2.3KViews0likes0Comments
