Hello, all. A few months back I purchased a unlimited data plan with at&t along with this hotspot in order to game on the Xbox One with it. So, I get on Xbox to find that I have a Strict NAT. I know many here would automatically point me towards a beginners guide on port forwarding but, that's my problem. I did that. I port forwarded everything it asked me to, I tried it both with a static IP and without a static IP. I reset my Xbox time and time again along with clearing the MAC address (After every change to the settings I the modem I made, I reset my Xbox and made sure to unplug it for at least a minute and drain the power block). Hell, I even tried to enable DMZ, knowing that it was dangerous and it STILL didn't open my NAT. My model of nighthawk has UPnP, but that doesn't work either for some reason. In the network settings of the Xbox it says the following: IPv4 NAT Type: Strict UPnP not successful xbox.com/xboxone/UPnP All services are available. I went to the link provided here and tried their method to make UPnP work. It didn't. I attached a screenshot of my attwifimanager page show what I did to port forward (I blocked out my static IP because I didn't know if it would be safe to share here) I would be grateful to anyone who could give me a STEP BY STEP for this model/at&t solution. Please tell me what I'm doing wrong because I've been trying to fix this for months.Orbi DMZ not working?
I can't seem to get my DMZ configuration to work on my Orbi RBK50? Before I had a ASUS RT-AC66U put the internal address of my NAS in the DMZ settings and it worked. With the Orbi I did the same. Put the internal address of my NAS in the DMZ settings and applied the settings. But it is impossible to use any of the internal features... Can't connect to Synology DMS, NFS, FTP etc. nothing seems to work. Please advise?AT&T Uverse Pace 5268AC in DMZ+ With Orbi ... help please
So I've been struggling with this for about two weeks now. I want to be able to use Orbi as my router with my ATT suplied Pace box because the Pace doesn't support UPnp or NAT lookup (or so people say) . I run a plex media server out of my house and need to be able to access it which didn't work just trying to use the supplied gateway and putting my orbi in AP mode. Also I like to use Nvidia shield streaming to connect to my gaming PC from outside of my house and I also can't do that with orbi in AP mode and using the supplied Pace gateway in none DMZ+ mode. So here's where I'm at: For the most part serfing the internet seems to work Sometimes it seems like web pages can't resolve connections but If i hit the refresh button a couple of times it will load the web page Plex seems to work outside of my house which is good Nvidia streaming DOESN'T work outside of my house even though I've forwarded the correct ports My roku specifically (I have two of them that have the same issue) seems to have a horrible time connecting to any channel both wired or streaming. I think it's having a hard time connecting to the roku servers in order to load a specific channel. Here's how I have things set up: Turned off the wifi on the Pace gateway Turned on DMZ+ mode for my orbi that's hooked to the first ethernet port on my Pace Gateway Public IP address is being passed to my Orbi router Orbi router is on the same subnet mask but a different IP range (10.0.0.x) and the Pace is on (192.168.1.x) Orbi router is set to DHCP mode updated the orbi firmware to the latest I'm really struggling here. There are a lot of really advanced settings on the Orbi that I think might be causing some issues but I don't know what they do even after googling and I'm not sure where I'm gong wrong. Can someone please save my life here. The thing that's most concering to me is that it seems to have issues making some connections at all (like my roku) this isn't just Orbi btw. I have done this exact same setup with an airport extreme and I had the exact same issue.WNDR4300V2 slow in bridge mode with VDSL?
I've had a number of WNDR type routers (3400, 3400V4 and now 4300V2) and have worked well with my Cable modem (30M Down/5M Up). Recently I've switched to DSL and have upgrade connectivity to 50M Down/10M Up. When connected with both ISP provided Modem/router or a Smart RG 505 Modem/router I've been easily able to obtain these speeds with both WiFi and wired connections to the router. All works normally as expected. I want to use my Netgear routers as my DHCP/Gateway and have configured the modem in Bridge mode. I let the router handle the PPPoE login and things seem to work fine EXCEPT speed drops to max 27-28M Down/ 10M Up (both wired and wireless). I've been pulling my hair out over this. MTU is set correctly (checked with Ping and verified with ISP). NAT/Firewall turned off on bridge. I've even tried both modems with almost exactly the same results. Thinking it was a problem between the modem and router negotiating bridge setup I've set the modem up as the gateway and setup a DMZ host to point to the Netgear router (and my LAN behind it). Router is still DHCP server for my LAN and the router has a static "WAN" address on the same subnet as the LAN on the modem. Everything works great and I can login and verify both pieces of hardware. No double NAT issues and UPnP works fine. AGAIN the speed drops to 27-29Mbps. Too slow. I have also taken an old TPLink router and replaced my Netgear router as the Gateway/DHCP server/router and speeds are back up to 50M Down/ 10M Up in both bridge mode and as the DMZ target. So this really seems to point to the Netgear modem as the bottle neck. Any advice? I searched a bit and found a few similar posts but no resolution. Most suggestions were wrt MTU (which I've played with and verified with the other modem/router) or using it as a DMZ target which doesn't seem to increase my speed. Am I hitting the limit of the WNDR4300? It is a relatively recent router (only a couple of years old) so I expect it could handle 50Mbps?? Any help or advice is greatly appreciated. Thanks in advance.Solved6.7KViews0likes6CommentsReadyNAS front-end e back-end
Can the FVS318Gv2 issue DHCP addresses to both the LAN subnet and a separate DMZ subnet? The idea is that i'd like to create a guest wi-fi and use the DMZ to issue IP Addresses separate from the LAN subnet. The manual indicates that DHCP can be enabled in the DMZ, however, it is not clear if it can be a separate subnet from the LAN subnet. There is a note in the manual on page 3-13 that indicates that the DHCP server in the DMZ should be the same as the LAN IP Addresses. This seems to defeat the purpose a separate DMZ with it's own port. "Note: The starting and ending DHCP addresses should be in the same subnet as the LAN IP address of the VPN firewall (the IP address that is configured in the LAN TCP/IP Setup section of the screen)." Just looking for some clarification. Thanks!2.3KViews0likes1CommentPort Passthrough to DrayTek
Hi Guys, I may be hounded from here for the very mention of a different brand however I am in need of som knowledgable help. We have an office that has just been setup in Qatar and we were told things that didnt turn out exactly as planned. The end result is that we have the Netgear router that will not seem to let us pass through the WAN IP to the DrayTek router. What we are looking to do is allow a true DMZ as such instead of the transformed passthrough we currently get (port remapping). Anyone on here managed to do this?Port Forward not work!
Hello! :manhappy: Sorry for my english, i try to do the best. I work and play online videogames out of my home, for this reason in the last 10 years i bought 3 hotspot modem. The first was a Novatell Wireless MiFi, one of the first model, and with it i have not a minimun problem because it is totally open (not have security features, nat, firewall etc...) but not is 4G and today we need 4G :) The second one was a TP-Link hotspot, great connection but i have some issue with it (one of all, no port forward feature inside control panel and i have a lot of issues with online videogames), for this reason i bought a Netgear Aircard 785S on Amazon (a smooth version, without sim or data plan) because i read that it have a port forward, dmz and upnp, very nice! My settings: - DHCP enabled - my notebook have a static IP - my antivirus/firewall (NOD32) disabled - created some rules inside firewall to allow all comunications in/out. - windows firewall and windows defender turned off. I tested Aircard with one game in particular, Rainbow Six Siege. first try, open all listed ports on official game forum but didn't work. Second try, activate uPnP but didn't work, last try, turn on DMZ and this worked. Ok good, i resolved all my problems! Yesterday came out a new game, Toxikk, a game where i can host a custom match/server and i try to do it but without success. My server not listed on server list, and my friend can't connect to it (remaining on the "connecting" screen). I'm already on DMZ and this leave me thinking..... DMZ work or not? Dunno... From here i done a lot of test... i turned on only uPnP, not work, only DMZ, not work, i turned off all and I open ports one by one, not work, i tried some combinations of DMZ, uPnP and ports, not work. I tried to uninstall NOD32 or disable it, not work. At this point i checked if ports are open with online tool, like http://www.yougetsignal.com/tools/open-ports/ . I start a server that are listening on port 7777 and i checked on website: the port is closed. I dunno if this online tool is good, because i tried to check a lot of ports and all are closed, also 21 and 80. At this point my consideration is that port forward not work. but also DMZ? And uPnP? I wrong something? I dunno, i spoke with some friend that can start a server without problem, and he say me that he just open 2 ports, 777 and 27015. I do the same, but my server is not visible and joinable. Why? I hope someone can help me.. thanks!VPN client access to DMZ systems on Netgear ProSafe SRX5308
Greetings, I have Netgear ProSafe SRX5308 with the latest firmware for present moment - 4.3.3-5. I have WAN 1 configured (lets say public IP 7.7.7.7) - it works fine, does not matter for current problem. I have LAN 1 configured for 172.16.0.0/16 local network with 172.16.0.1 IP address for firewall itself. I have DMZ configured for LAN 4 / DMZ port with 192.168.32.0/24 range and 192.168.32.1 IP address for firewall itself. I have couple linux hosts in DMZ zone, since I am working on configuring those no need to access from WAN yet, just from internal LAN. I have created LAN-DMZ Outbound rules allowed PING any-any, SSH any-any, HTTPS any-any, so I can ping, ssh or https to servers in DMZ from my local network. This is working just fine. I am working from home from time to time so I would like to be able to configure those DMZ servers from home, so I configured L2TP server (enabled, set range 172.17.0.1-172.17.0.16, created user). I am able to establish VPN connection from my home, getting 172.17.0.1 IP and able to access any server in my LAN (local network 172.16.0.0/16) but I cannot access / ping any server in DMZ (192.168.32.0/24), even I can ping Netgear IP in DMZ just fine (192.168.32.1). Those DMZ servers have only one IP address in 192.168.32.0/24 subnet (e.g. 192.168.32.10) and default gateway is Netgear IP (192.168.32.1). I cannot find anything on firewall similar to VPN-DMZ rules, only LAN-WAN, DMZ-WAN, LAN-DMZ. I thought VPN users should fail into LAN-DMZ rules, but seems they are:(. Any hints are very welcome. TIA, Andre. I found later next thread similar for my problem https://community.netgear.com/t5/ProSecure-STM-and-UTM-Discussion/VPN-client-access-to-DMZ-systems/m-p/10284#M251 but the answers from moderator is - problem with routing... looks fishy for me. DMZ servers has only 1 IP and default gateway is Netgear Router. VPN clients has default gateway - Netgear router. So this should be nothing extra to configure on "clients" in subnets where Netgear router has interfaces in. You do not have extra routing rules on client to acess LAN from VPN, suppose same way should work to access DMZ from VPN.7.8KViews0likes5Comments
