Hi All, We have a RN314 synched with Egnyte using Egnyte Local Cloud. Our need for Egnyte has reduced to a point where we really only need to be able to access our files occasionally when not in the office and have an offsite copy of data in case the NAS is stolen, lost. etc. We plan to move from Egnyte to Readycloud. Is there any advice in what to do / not to do when attempting this? Thanks ChrisIntegrate 314 with Egnyte

Hello, At first I would like to appologize to spam in this thread, but I couldn't find appropriate subsection for ReadyCLOUD. I've been trying to setup cloud services onto my ReadyNAS RN104, but so far with any luck. I've tried ownCloud from community applications, but it didn't work. Link: http://www.readynas.com/forum/viewtopic.php?f=36&t=76918 I followed youtube tutorial from netgear pages. I've turned on ReadyCLOUD, ReadyDROP and ReadyNAS Remote and created account, pressed backup button, discovered the device, but after clicking Manage, I've got Unknown Certificate and even when I continue I ended up on the main page of administration in my ReadyNAS [https://192.168.xxx.xxx/] Any ideas?Remove files via SSH- sync changes to Egnyte
Hello- I have written a bash script that moves files out of the /ELC/ fileshare if they are older than a certain date. However, when I do this, the changes do not sync across to Egnyte, so the files remain on my Egnyte account. Is there something that I need to do in order to get these changes to be recognized by Egnyte? Thanks, ChrisEgnyte Alternatives Due to Price Hike
Hi all, Egnyte are hicking up our existing plan pricing from $90/mth to $150/mth effective December this year for less users and similar features. Thats a 66% increase for nothing extra in our case! Their response to why this happened is as below; The rate increase is due to a combination of advancements in R&D to enhance the Egnyte solution as well as staying current with the market pricing and demand. We are always re-investing money back into the company to enhance the system for our clients in terms of upload speeds, advanced security features, changes to the interface, etc. Also as a start up company, the original pricing structure was not aligned with the market rates. Please note that many clients choose annual billing as opposed to monthly for the sole purpose of price protection. Feel free to review our Terms of Service: https://www.egnyte.com/corp/terms_of_service.html I don't believe that this is warranted considering we have been using their service since the beginning (and putting up with the bugs and hours with their tech guys dialling in to fix sync issues). I was curious to know if there were any other add-ons available offering similar functionality?Egnyte ReadyNAS 3200
Hi all, i installed the add on cloud file server to use ad user and outside of the company user. If i want to manage the cloud service i get an error: Local Cloud Error Sorry, an error occurred Please contact technical support. We are sorry for any inconvenience. (OR) You may go back to Office Local Cloud Home. What i did wrong, why it is not working like it should? I just setup the NAS, nothing else. Do i have to setup something before i wnat to use cloud service? regardsCombining OLC with ELC?
We're looking at using egnyte to provide file access to some remote offices and partners. Our main site has a full Active Directory/vSphere setup so we are planning on having an ELC appliance there which will map AD users to egnyte users. We've evaluated the ELC and it seems to do what we want for our main office, but it's a little more difficult to evaluate the ReadyNAS as we'd have to purchase one and right now it's a "what if" so we don't want to do that until we have to. Our remote offices and partners are a mixture from one guy through to an office which may end up with quite a few people in it, with no connectivity back to our corporate LAN (they are more "partners/agents" than "employees") and none of their IT setup is within our control, but we do need to have access to a common data area. For the single user scenario it seems pretty simple, mapped drive or personal local cloud. For the slightly larger locations, what I want to confirm is that we can "mix" ELC and OLC appliances, so for a remote office we could pre-configure a ReadyNAS Pro with the correct IP details and with local users created on it, and map those users to an egnyte account and ship it out there? Could we configure the ReadyNAS so that only the folder that relates to that office is downloaded and synchronised? How does egnyte handle administrators of users on the ReadyNAS? In a remote office we may need someone there to be able to login to the ReadyNAS to add/remove users, who may need to be mapped to an egnyte account - but we don't want or need the people who can do this to be able to access/modify the entire egnyte account (an admin at our main site controls everything but an admin in Office A should not be able to choose to download Office B's data) - how does the ReadyNAS handle this please? What happens when a large file (say a 2gb CAD model) is modified at either location? Is 2gb replicated from our main site, to the cloud, then down to the ReadyNAS, or is it an rsync style "delta" replication of just the blocks that have changed (this is obviously important because of time and bandwidth)? Any feedback would be fantastic thanks. How do I back up an entire ReadyNAS?
Our company has a ReadyNAS Pro 6 and want to back it up to the cloud with Egnyte. I've got it installed on the ReadyNAS but when I go to the Egnyte Office Local Cloud page, all I see are Shared and Private folders. It looks like all I can do is move files to the Office Cloud page, not sync them to any current ReadyNAS directory. Am I wrong? We have about 400GBs of data at the moment that we want to backup into the cloud with Egnyte. In the near future, this will probably be cut by 25%.Users can not save files
We have been experiencing and intermittent problem with saving files to the ReadyNAS. When users go to save a file after modifications is does not always allow the user to overwrite the file. It requires the user to give the file a new name to save. I have gone in to the folder where the user are trying to save the file and I am able to create, modify and delete a file, but whenever they try to save/overwrite a file it does not allow it. The problem started with acrobat and now I am getting reports of Word and Excel and does not happen all the time. Our desktops are windows 7 32 bit with Office 2007 and Acrobat version 8,9,10. We are running a Windows 2008 R2 server as our domain controller with mapped drives to the ELC share on the NAS. Any Ideas? How long to 'build a local snapshot' ?
I've got one ReadyNAS pro unit that seems to take forever to get through its, "Building Local Snapshot" phase. It has to chew through 1.2 TB of data, but how long should this take?? Since there is no progress bar or other info, I don't know if its almost done, or should I just stop and start it again, or reboot the NAS? I just upgraded to 8.0.7.0, from 8.0.5 and was having the same issue. Any guidence here would be very helpful. I've got two other identical units with the same OLC version that are humming like tops.
