I have my unit set up as an extender and when I first turn it on and it finishes booting, it runs fine, within 24 hours it drops the connection to my wireless camera and i cannot connect to it with my iPhone. a power cycle gets it going again.3.9KViews0likes4CommentsUsing EX6100 with a New Router
Hello, I purchased a new Linksys router and want to use the 3 EX61000 extenders with this router. However, I can't seem to make the extenders work. I try factory reset but the same old information appears on my network. I keep reading the instructions on line that talk about the Genie and logging into http://www.mywifext.net. I don't think I've ever seen the Genie software with any of my 3 extenders. Every time I try to log into the url given, all 3 of my browsers (Edge, IE, Chrome) indicates that the page can't be displayed or reached. Are these extenders now useless? Thank you.2.6KViews0likes1CommentNetgear EX6100, 10.0.0.250 IP Address after a reset
Initially worked fine. Decided to set it up as an Access Point. Setup failed. Did a reset and tried the setup again, it failed again. Tried to reinstate as the original Extender. After some poking around, found it had a 10.0.0.250 IP. I could connect to the Netgear home page with it. Tried to fill out the "Create New Account", the page resets and back to the beginning.Solved5.8KViews0likes1CommentEX6100 Cannot connect to the internet - help please
Hi, I just purchased the EX6100 in order to extend my wireless network signal - my router signal is not strong enough in my basement to access the internet down there. I went through the setup and seemingly connected my new extender to my existing router, but when I get to the step to connect my devices to the extender's new network, I can connect, but I only get a local connection. I cannot connect to the internet. Does anyone have any idea why this might be the case? I would appreciate some help on this.44KViews0likes25CommentsHad the AC750 for a week and have already needed to restart router to maintain connection?
I bought this extender less than a week ago and at first it worked great. Then today suddenly my phone and computer could not access the internet. They both had full bars from the extender, and could connect to the extender, but could not access the internet. They could both access the internet directly from the router when I moved close enough, however, so I know the problem is with the extender. I unplugged the extender, then unplugged and replugged in the router and waited for it to boot up, then replugged in the extender, and everything worked fine. Unfortunatley the router is in my landlords house so I had to ask to enter his house and do this. I don't want to have to do this every five days. Please tell me: is there something else I can do to prevent this from happening again?3.6KViews0likes1CommentConnecting EX6100
At wit's end: bought an EX6100 today to improve my modem's range but I can't get it to connect to the router. The extender connects to my computer and I follow the instructions provided on the browser for setting the network up, but once it applies the new settings and tells me I'm ready to connect, the router led light still hasn't lit up and I have no connection to the internet. I can't use the WPS method because I don't think my modem (Netgear Rangemax DG834PN) has a physical WPS button. Is the extender faulty? The modem is excellent at close range but just can't reach my study. What are my options?EX6100 always defaults to "NEW EXTENDER SETUP" when entering it's IP address in browser.
Hi community, Hoping someone has the solution please. My EX6100 always defaults to "NEW EXTENDER SETUP" when entering it's IP address in browser. Not only that if I then enter try to complete the password and security questions, the "NEXT: remains greyed out and unable to proceed to next page. Only the "BACK" button is active to click on. Previously to this problem, I did a firmware update and since then, the EX6100 stopped working completely. 1. I did a factory reset and unable to setup. 2. I have tried using url's mywifiext.net or mywifiext.com to no avail. The webpage always defaults to "NEW EXTENDER SETUP". 3. I have cleared the browsers history cache 4. I have use a patch cable to directly connect EX6100 to laptop Your help greatly appreciated. THANK YOU4.2KViews0likes1CommentI have moved and my WIFI extender seems to remember old network
Hi everyone, I have the WIFI extender and had it working at my old place. I recently moved into a new home and have tried using the WIFI extender for the new network and am finding it is still labelled as the old network in my list of networks to connect to on my laptop. I have tried resetting to factory settings which has not worked. I have also tried using the WPS button to connect to this new network (and pressing the button on the router) and the green light will flash for a minute or so, turn solid green and then when I search for the network it still is the old one. Trying to connect to this old network it says there is no internet connection. Does anyone know what I can do?7.8KViews0likes1CommentEX6100 connection and password issues
My EX6100 will connect to a network known as Home-6F89. This network does not exist, it does not belong to any of my neighbors. My Modem/Router is named Home-1552. I hardwire connect my EX6100 to this device to sync it. When it becomes hardwire connected it identifies my Modem/Router as Home-6F89, this is incorrect. No passwords function for the Home-6F89_2GEXT and Home-6F896GEXT signals that are created from the EX6100. The base signal Home-6F89 does not exist. Period, I has not been found on WiFi options within a 100ft radius of my Router/Modem and my EX6100 *i did not check beyond that range because after 100ft it doesn't matter.* Factory resets of both my Modem/Router and EX6100 multiple times *Simultaneous Factory resets* and the issues still persist.2.5KViews0likes1CommentEX6100 cannot connect to my router's 5GHz frequency
Hello, I just got a Huawei E5186 4G LTE router from Europe, and I tried to get my EX6100 (bought from the US) to connect to my router's 2.4GHz and 5GHz frequencies. It's able to connect to the 2.4GHz frequency just fine, but doesn't seem to be able to connect to the 5GHz frequency. Now I know that since I bought the devices from two different regions, not all of the 5GHz channels are supported by the two devices, which is why I tried setting up my router's 5GHz frequency on channels 36, 40, 44 and 48, which are all the channels supported by both devices. The EX6100 is able to see my router's 5GHz SSID during setup, and I'm able to finish the setup wizard fine, but when I look at the Status page afterwards, it shows that the EX6100 is not connected to my router's 5GHz. No matter how many times I try to reconnect to the 5GHz frequency, it just won't work. I tried to restore the extender to factory settings multiple times, but nothing seems to work. Both my router and extender won't allow me to change the region (tried this so that I may be able to find more common channels). How can I resolve this problem? Thanks in advance, AJ16KViews0likes10Comments
