I have a Sonicwall TZ300 with internet working fine in 2.4Ghz in n/g/b mixed mode. I'm trying to extend it with an N300 which used to work just fine on a TZ100. However, the N300 does not see the SSID of the TZ300, which is not hiding its SSID. I've tried bringing it closer to the Sonicwall with no better results. I have an Apple Time Capsule connected to my Arris SB6141 modem. I have an additional Netgear N600 router that I want to connect to my network and use it as a wifi extender while also being able to run ethernet cables from the ports to have wired connections in another part of my house. How can I set this up? I was wondering if they will all be on the name network and not create an additional wireless network also. Thanks in advance.20KViews0likes6CommentsBridging vs. access point
Hello all, I have a new Nighthawk ac1750 router (6700 I believe). I would like to add it to my existing wireless network (a tp-link router). I can either connect it to the existing router wirelessly or with cat6 (obviously wirelessly would be easier). I am hoping that the Nighthawk will be able to connect to devices wirelessly and hard wired. Looking through the literatureit looks like bridging is not an option, but I am not sure if using it as an access point will allow me to have both wired and wireless clients working through it. Is there another configuration or trick that will let me do what I want to do? Will either of these options negitively impact the transfer of data between the main router and the Nighthawk? Thanks!
