I am using the Nighthawk R7960P router with the Circle app. I have been using the circle app for over two years, and I turned off the internet for my son's laptop. Now the circle app is not able to connect Netgear router. I always get an error message saying, "Can't connect Circle". I tried clearing the cache, reinstalling the app, and installing the app on android and iOS devices, but no luck. Any help on this issue? Today, I upgraded my Nighthawk R6900v2 firmware to V1.2.0.92_1.0.1 1. The R6900v2 documentation dated Feb 2022 says I should be able to use parental controls https://www.downloads.netgear.com/files/GDC/R6900v2/R6900v2_UM_EN.pdf 2. When I click on parental controls in my updated NetGear genie, it says my firmware does not support Live Parental Controls, and says the following: Checking router firmware We're making sure you have firmware that supports Live Parental Controls. Your router's current firmware does not support Live Parental Controls. Please go to http://www.netgear.com/ to download the latest firmware or use the "Router "Upgrade" feature in your routers web GUI at http://www.routerlogin.net/ to update the firmware first. 3. This webpage says the R6900v2 is not supported for Circle Smart parental controls https://kb.netgear.com/000044718/Which-NETGEAR-routers-support-Circle-Smart-Parental-Controls 4. This URL says: NOTE: The Live Parental Controls service is no longer supported on NETGEAR devices as of December 31, 2021 due to low usage. Support for Live Parental Controls has been removed from the NETGEAR genie app and from updated firmware versions. NETGEAR Smart Parental Controls is the replacement for the Live Parental Controls service. For more information, see Support for Live Parental Controls ends April 1, 2021. https://kb.netgear.com/25687/How-do-I-set-up-Live-Parental-Controls-on-my-NETGEAR-router-using-the-genie-desktop-app So, even though the User manual for the R6900v2 says I should be able to use parental controls, all the available documentation says this model does not have currently have support. Is there any other 3rd party way to set this up, or am I stuck with no parental controls vs having to purchase a new unit? Thanks in advance.1.2KViews0likes0CommentsOnly block site within a specified time range
Is it possible to block sites only within certain time frames with Circle? For example: 00:00 - 09:00: website/service (e.g. youtube.com) blocked 09:00 - 19:00: website/service (e.g. youtube.com) available 19:00 - 00:00: website/service (e.g. youtube.com) blockedOrbi ax6000 No Parental Control
Extreme disappointment today, paid a hefty price to upgrade to the Orbi ax6000 to find that it does not have circle (which circle confusingly states is available on Orbi systems) or any parental controls for that matter. Was upgrading from NightHawk r7800 due to wanting better parental control - the r7800 at least has the basic parental control feature - Orbi ax6000 offers access control, but ZERO PARENTAL CONTROL OPTIONS. Sadly, the Orbi will have to be returned. NetGear needs to fix the false claim that Circle is available on Orbi Systems to clearly state that Circle is only available on specific orbi models. It would also be nice to know if Circle features were in development for a future firmware release, but that information cannot be found either.1.7KViews3likes1CommentOrbi RBR50 - Manage Circle Admin Passcode SMS not received
I am trying to enable Circle Parental control on my Orbi RBR50 Router. I have both apps installed on an iPhone. When i launch the Circle app and click "I am the only admin", it tries to send the passcode, but I am not getting any passcodes. Please help. Hello all, We upgraded our router to a R8000 a week or so ago and then decided to try out the Circle option on it (subscribing via Apple) after battling with our 9 year old over ScreenTime. It has been a huge success so far but we noticed a couple things about the app that we were worried about. I noticed the app said something about 1st gen support was stopping. The app we are using I ASSUME is the Circle 1st gen (it says that when opened in the bottom corner). How will this effect its use and working with the router?Solved2.1KViews0likes1CommentOpenDNS parental control setup on Orbi router
How can I setup OpenDNS parental control on my Orbi? After disabling Circle and enabling OpenDNS from the Orbi web interface, if I click on Parental Controls I am redirected to NETGEAR Live Parental Controls - Sign in to your OpenDNS account How do I get the credentials to sign it? I don't have an account and on the signin webpage there is the message below that point to an app that doesn't exist anymore! So I am stuck! Please help! I understand that Netgear is tryng to push users to use the paid version of Circle parental control and I am trying to understand if I can make OpenDNS working or not. Many thanks! Important Note If you have not yet configured the Live Parental Controls feature on your device please do so with NETGEAR genie, download it now for Windows, Mac, or iPhone/iPad and Android devices.2.5KViews0likes1CommentAnother complain:Ax6000 No Circle!!! 👎🏻👎🏻
Paid $7700 for AX6000. Felt cheated that it does not include Circle parental control after set up. Misleading website. Marketed as a router for future, why would Netgear omit this basic tool included in other competitors’ router? Fix it on air ASAP pls!!!1.3KViews0likes1CommentWill netgear ever get Circle parental control on Orbi to work?
Looks like I’m having the same issue that many others are having with circle on the Orbi RBK50- constant connection drops (at least once per day all devices will lose internet connection) when Circle is enabled. Disabling circle restores reliability. I’ve seen numerous threads on this issue, some going back over a year. Seems like circle interferes with orbi’s ability to renew dhcp lease. However, I have yet to see evidence that netgear is working on a fix. Anyone know if netgear has actually acknowledged this issue and if a fix is forthcoming?Device having issues with Circle enabled
Hi all, I have enabled Circle on my Orbi. I am running into a single specific issue with the Google Pixel 3. It started holding on to the bedtime schedule. So I removed the device from circle. When we reconnect the device to the Orbi, it does not show up and also it does not get added back in to the Circle as a device. Any one have a thoughts on this, or should I do a factory reset of the Circle settings on the Orbi to see if this resolves it? Thanks in advance Running the latest firmware1.2KViews0likes1Comment
