Model: XR500 Firmware: V2.3.2.134 OS: Windows 11 ----------------------------------- Hello, I recently just switched ISPs (Xplornet to Starlink) and I believe I have everything set up mostly correctly. However, one thing that does not load on my DumaOS QoS panel is the Traffic Prioritization settings - where I would normally specify ports on devices that I wanted to skip the queue. The router has been updated and factory reset. I have tested with both ISPs and this problem only occurs on Starlink. HOWEVER, if you notice in the "Traffic Overview" section, it shows that packets are being prioritized - so it's as if the default profile is being applied, but I just can't edit it at all. Here is my setup: I saw that one Redditor suggested, "My guess would be it needs to have a public IP on the WAN interface. If you're behind Starlink's router or on CGNAT, you don't have that, maybe that disables [the traffic priority menu]. Perhaps [Netgear] feels it makes no sense to prioritize packets if you're behind NAT(s) that will interfere with that". So yeah, the feature seems to work, but I can't manage it manually. Any ideas?4.9KViews0likes17CommentsDumaOS Admin Screen with Nighthawk XR500 in AP Mode
I just set up my Nighthawk XR500 in AP mode with dynamic address. The Internet (WAN) RJ45 port is connected to my Frontier FiOS router, and the XR500 is running firmware version V2.3.2.114. WiFi SSIDs and Keys are configured and guest networks are disabled. Wired and WiFi connections are all working very well, there are no issues with functionality or stability. The question I have relates to the left panel options on the DumaOS main screen when I login to the router as admin. When I first logged in to begin the configuration process there were a lot of features in the left panel: Dashboard, Geo Filter, QoS, Device Manager, Network Monitor, System Information and Settings. After configuring the XR500 for AP mode, the only feature appearing in the left panel is Settings, as seen in the included screenshot. I understand that certain aspects of router functionality don't apply to AP mode, but very many things are still relevant. For example, in Dashboard I would expect to see Guest Wireless Status, Wireless Status, Network Overview, CPU Usage, Installed R-Apps and relevant fields in Internet Status. QoS may not be at all relevant in AP mode, but I would expect the feature to be grayed out in this case instead of removed. I'm very surprised to see all features other than Settings completely disappear from the left panel. Is this normal and expected when in AP mode?Solved3.2KViews0likes3CommentsHow do I change my public ip address on the XR1000
Nighthawk Pro Gaming WiFi 6 Router with DumaOS XR1000 ( AX 5400 ) How do I change my public ip address on this router? I have changed my public IP plenty of times with my old netgear router but this one doesn't seem to have the "change the A to a 0" feature, it's just a numbered ip address that I cant change. I have contacted my ISP and they told me I need to contact the manufacture.2.1KViews0likes1CommentHow to rebuild XR300 squashfs
I now want to expand the functionality of my firmware, so I need to change the files inside the firmware filesystem, I use the official tool mksquashfs, but the generated squashfs file is not the same as the squashfs file generated directly with binwalk the squashfs from binwalk and the squashfs from tools:1.5KViews0likes2CommentsVERY long reboot times - XR500
Ok, so to start, my shiny and exciting XR500 gaming router is turning into an absolute shambolic nightmare. The thing is plagued with problems. I am hoping for the sake of the community that it is just mine but this is the latest in a string of irritating bugs that should not be present on a £250 router. Due to many problems: IPV6 not working, DDNS being buggy, in game lag, higher than before ping stats and worse than before BQM results I have been forced into restarting my modem regularly. When i perform a reboot, either via the interface or the router itself it can take at least 5 minutes before the gui becomes responsive and will allow me to log in. The power light stays red while the other lights are white. Devices can connect to the internet but cannot connect to the router itself. Due to the long list of issues im having with this router I am starting to think it is a faulty unit. Anybody else experience this long wait while the router reboots? ThanksSolved2.6KViews0likes2CommentsPort 22 SSH closed, not stealthed.
Just loaded up the latest firmware for the XR500 2.2.0.4 and noticed that (yes I know shields up is not the greatest these days) but it came back saying all ports stealthed but that port 22 is closed. All other ports are stealthed. Anyone know whats going on there? I cant do a hard reset because the router has the password issue that the r7800 had where '\' symbol causes a 400 server error. Since I have a 63 character ASCII pasword I'm waiting for that to get fixed as im not changing my password to exclude that symbol on 12 devices. its bad enough typing it in the first time on a TV with a remote control! So back to the port 22 issue SSH login protocol, anyone else seeing this and any idea on a fix. Or is this a sit and wait for it to get fixed in a new update or is it even meant to be like this. My R7800 shows all steathed on latest firmware which also fixed the '\' password symbol issue.Solved8.3KViews0likes6CommentsPossible firmware upgrades including DumaOS for older model Nighthawk routers?
What are the chances that y’all will release the DumaOS software for other Nighthawk models? I purchased a Nighthawk X8 to use with my netduma r1 router when it came out. I’d really like to be able to use all the power it came with and have the DumaOS software in a update. Has anyone heard anything on this issue?Solved11KViews1like2Comments
