I have recently been able to sign into my OpenDNS account in the Parental Controls tab of NETGEAR Genie. It is only a fairly recent problem; last couple of weeks or so. I have an active OpenDNS account which I am able to configure as desired via the OpenDNS portal. But as I am unable to login to my account via NETGEAR Genie it is not receiving any data from my network and my desired OpenDNS parental controls are not being applied. I have tried deleting my previous OpenDNS account and creating a new on several times. I have also uninstalled and reinstalled NETGEAR Genie seevral times. To no avail. I simply continue to receive the message "There was an error signing in, please make sure you're connected to the Internet and try again." I can assure you I am well and truly connected to the internet so have no connectivity issues.Solved3.8KViews1like3CommentsGenie won't connect to OpenDNS for Parental Controls
I get I know there is already a good thread on this subject, but this !@*&($@#*&#& forum app WON'T let me add my question to that thread. So we get a new thread, sorry. I am using the PC version of the Netgear Genie (V2.4.52), trying to set up the Parental Controls. Created a new OpenDNS account using the link within the Genie app. I can go directly to OpenDNS now and login just fine. R7000 router tells me I have the latest Firmware update. (V1.0.9.18_1.2.27) Router has been powered down and up several times (using power cord) Genie app has been closed and re-started several times. Windows Defender settings are set to allow GENIE to access all networks, Private and Public. Still, when I try to sign in to my OpenDNS I get the following "There was an error signing in, please make sure you're connected to the Internet and try again." ???????????????????????????? Please help.Solved12KViews0likes22CommentsAndroid Genie App
So I have checked the Genie app on Android and IOS. Here is the scenario: I am away from my network and am Remotely Connected over the WAN. Access control is on I click Network Map On IOS, I see the globe, aonnected to the Router, connected to all of the locally connected devices. Yay On Android I see my mobile device, connected to the Globe, connected to the Router. Boo Thus omn Android, I have no control over over local devices when outside the network, making this app pretty useless. Is this a bug, a limitation, a config issue??Solved4.9KViews0likes6CommentsGENIE APP ON IOS AND ANDROID FAILED TO LOGIN
