ReadyNAS 6.7.1 and Google Drive Cloud Sync
Bidirectional sync with Google Drive Cloud does not seem to work. On the Bidirectional setting it only syncs from the NAS to Google Drive Cloud but not the other way round. I did some tests with all 3 sync modes: up / down / bidirectional. Even on the down settings it still does not sync from Google Drive Cloud to the NAS. Only the up mode works (NAS to Google Drive Cloud). On other posts/threads I've seen mention of setting the synchronisation check frequency but that does not appear anywhere. Hello, Since Google Drive sync is enabled on my readynas (RN314), the spin-down does not work anymore. After disable the sync, the spin-down is working again Did you experiment that ? the problem seems the same with dropbox sync. So I just updated to 6.73 a couple days ago and noticed Google Drive Beta was an option for backup. I am already syncing using rclone to google drive so this was a nice feature upgrade for me. I enabled it but have not had much luck with it. Whenever I backup files to Google Drive it seems to get stuck in a loop on certain files. It uploades duplicates of the file until I stop google drive beta. I had 8 copies of the same file with the same name in my google drive. I was originally trying this with Amazon Drive enabled as well as Google Drive, but have since disabled Amazon and tried only Google Drive but the problem persisted. I have tried setting up Google drive in both bidirectional syncs and upload only mode and still does the same thing. It scans both the local disk and cloud drives correctly and only uploads new content. But when it loads the new content it just keeps loading the same file over and over. Would anyone be able to help? I can pull logs if necessary. How to backup to Google Drive, S3 etc using rclone
Hi, Im new to Netgear Community, in response to these two closed community posts: Developer Request: Full Cloud Sync Access via iClone & incond Backing up to your ReadyNAS I can confirm that rclone can (easily) be installed on ReadyNAS and successfully synced with Google Drive. While I havent deployed an official ReadyNAS developer app, and at this stage dont intend to, the setup took me under 10 minutes and can easily be replicated. Tested on ReadyNAS 104 firmware 6.6.1. Installation SSH onto the ReadyNAS Follow the rclone installation quickstart with the following changes: Substitute the AMD64 precompiled binary for ARM32, ie: curl -O https://downloads.rclone.org/rclone-current-linux-arm.zip Dont worry about copying the man file. As of version 6.6.1, ReadyNAS Linux doesn't come with man installed. Also, rclone --help is really thorough. Usage Follow the rclone for Google Drive doc.
