7 TopicsAdding 4TB - total storage volume not increased
Hi, We have a Readynas nv+ v2 used for backing up to. It has 4x2TB hdd’s. The NAS has run out of space and I am in process of adding 2 new 4TB drives. I am adding one drive at the time and have only added 1 drives so far. After adding 1x 4TB drive the storage ‘size’ has not increased – it seems that only 2TB of the new drive is used. I can see in the admin section (under info) that the 4TB (3726GB) is recognised. Before adding the second 4TB drive I want to make sure this work. Any idea how expand the storage over all drives? Thanks JHSolved6.1KViews0likes12CommentsVol C Life Support
Serially upgrading discs in readynas. Replaced disc 1 without issue. After synchronising disc 1, moved on to disc 2, but was unable to free it from the carrier, so replaced it in the same slot, and moved on to disc 3, not realising that disc 2 should now be synchronised even though it was the same disc being replaced. Readynas now reads Vol C life support. I have taken no further action since this. What should I now do?3.2KViews0likes2Comments16 TB Limit: Sum of Drive Capacities or Usable Space ?
Is the 16-TB limit on RAIDiator 4 devices the maximum sum of all the drives' capacity or is it the usable space ? i.e. If I am set up with X-RAID2 (2-drive redundancy) is 16 TB the size of the pool that I can actually use to store data, or is it just the sum of the capacities of the installed drives ?2.3KViews0likes1Comment6.4.0 with RN104 - No Longer Shuts Down. Any Ideas?
Hey Guys, Ive been using My RN104 for a while, but since upgrading the firmware as per the login page the ReadyNas no longer shuts down. Ive tried the pressing the power button and follow the on display prompt to shut it down. It would appear that it does shut down as the HDD's turn off but the PSU fan keeps spinning with a Shutting message on the LCD display (Went a way for a few days and it was still shutting down). It was working fine with the previous FW and there have been no extra apps installed on this NAS as its basically a FTP/backup server Also with this issue is causing the auto on/off function not to work any more. Does any one else havethis issue or any idea on how to resolve this? Many thanks, Aaron2.8KViews0likes3Commentsswapped disks from one NV+ to another data doesn't show up
I had a NV+ v1 fail and bought a used one so I could to get the data off the hard drives. Swapped the disks from the old to the new. New NV+ shows up in the finder on my iMac, but doesn't show up in RaidAR. I can access through the finder, but none of the files show up. All I see is a file called "homes" and none of my old files are visable. Ideas?Solved5.1KViews0likes8CommentsIs my ReadyNas Pro running too hot?
Upgraded my disks and they appear to be running pretty hot. Ambient temp is around 78F. If this is too hot, what can I do to help?
