Hi, I recently added to our Netgear M4300-12X12F switch (Firmware 12.0.19.4, AV UI Version 2.2.8.26, Boot Version B1.0.0.17) some Dell LTF8502-BC+-DEN1 SFP+ transceivers, right after doing that the LEDs showing active links on the other previously working transceivers shut down. Trying to debug the problem from the web user interface, very strange behaviors can be noticed when the Dell transceivers are installed: FAN-1 and FAN-2 are randomly reported as failed, and also MAC and System temperatures jumps randomly to strange values (i.e. over 200 Celsius degrees). Moreover the Power LED lights on the chassis from time to time switch to solid yellow, maybe because it performs a power-on self-test (POST), or otherwise because it reboots itself. Removing the Dell transceivers seems to solve all of these issues. Is this a known problem? Any chances that a firmware upgrade may solve the problem? I am looking for the correct mount kit for my GSM4352PS. When Netgear replaced my defective device, they sent me a mounting kit of the wrong size. Their support has been very slow, and I’m not sure when I’ll receive the right one. For my immediate needs, I’d like to purchase a kit myself, but I haven’t been able to find where to buy one. Does anyone know of a store or a universal mounting kit that would fit my model? Thank you very much.399Views0likes2CommentsM4300-24X - multiple sudden restarts
Hi, Has anyone got confirmation that heat is the cause of restarting the switch ? Did replacing a factory installed PSU help ? I`m having restarts quite often - twice a day or one restart in 2-3 days. The restarting unit is the backup one, (the restarting unit is allways the warmer one). It becomes unstable when reaching 64-65C. The fans duty levels are constant and I haven`t seen it changing above 27%,(mboard about 5200 rpm, PSU 4600 rpm), but the switch is burning up. I`m running the latest firmware 12.0.17.12 upgraded from 12.0.17.9. (the restarts were also before the upgrade) Similar cases: https://community.netgear.com/t5/Managed-Switches/M4300-24X-sudden-restarts/m-p/1862083 https://community.netgear.com/t5/Managed-Switches/M4300-24x-spontaneous-reboots-dispite-latest-firmware/m-p/1641688#M6574 Regards,1.8KViews0likes6CommentsXS716T and UWB-XG
Anyone know if a Netgear XS16T will power a Unifi BaseStationXG (UWB-XG)? I don't think the XS716T has the 802.3bt standard and the UWB-XG calls for it. On the other hand, the wattage output minimum on the XS716T is 45.3w (source: product datasheet) and the maximum needed for the UWB-XG is 31w (source: Quick Start Guide). Thoughts?Solved895Views0likes4CommentsUsed M5300 blinking yellow POWER light and no CLI access
Hi, I have just bought a used M5300-52G-POE+ but after turning it on the Power LED starts off as solid yellow and then changes to flashing yellow. None of the RJ45 ports appear to work but the LEDs for 49T, 50T and 49F and 50F are lit up solid yellow. I have tried to get into the CLI through the USB serial port but all that shows up is "Uboot M5300 VerNo=1.0.0.5" whenever I reboot it. The USB cable I am using is just one that I had as one wasn't provided with it. The Stack ID displays as 1. Is there anything I am missing here or could there be a fault with this device? [This form is weird, does not recognize MS305 as an "associated product"] My new MS305 switch takes about 25 seconds to boot when plugged in... the power light blinks for that long before going solid green. After that it seems to work. Is this normal behavior?592Views0likes1CommentGS724TPv2 won't factory reset
I have reset before, but now it won't. I pushed in the factory reset button for 5 seconds and nothing happens (before it would flash the lights) and the Power light is amber. This switch hasn't even been used yet, it was a spare. Please help. I would hate to think it never got to be used, especially now that I need it. I have a M4300-52G-PoE+ in my office, because of the current Network setup, this is where it needs to be. I have my switch configured, and I was hoping to have the ability to adjust the fan speed/mode on my switch. It runs pretty loud, and is quite distracting to work with. My switch is not running hot, and I have plenty of temperature range before it will get too hot. I was wondering if there is the ability to change the fan speed/mode for this switch in the configuration? I was unable to find anything when digging through the web GUI and the Netgear Engage Device Manager. Is this already a feature on this switch and I cannot find it, or is it something that has yet to be added? I know this feature is offered on other Netgear products, but can't seem to find the option for the M4300 series. Would love to know if I am just missing something, or if this feature is coming soon?1KViews0likes1CommentM7100-24 (XSM7224) Rack Mount kit
Does anyone know the Netgear PN for the M7100-24X (XSM7224) Rack Mount Kit and where I may be able to purchase 2 or 3 kits from? Netgear doesn't appear to sell these. So far my Google search has only turned up one that is compatible but which is also unfortunately no longer available purchase anywhere (Magnaroute GS-17 Rack Mount Kit Compatible with NETGEAR GS748TPS, XSM7224, and XSM7224S switches).781Views0likes2CommentsChanging Management VLAN on GS724TPv.2 and accessing it from local computer on LAN
I am needing some help with changing the default management VLAN on our switches and being able to access them from my desktop on our LAN. I've followed the solution for the topic here titled Howto change management vlanid on gs724T to no avail. Once I make the suggested changes, I loss any connectivity to the switch from my desktop and am forced to factory reset it. Can anyone help me with the complete required steps to make this a reality? I have a test environment setup in which to practice and learn on. I am also very familiar with setting up VLANs on these Netgear switches. Looking forward to any and all assistance I can get. Thank you.1.4KViews0likes3Comments
