Hi All, My RN204 has been workign perfectly for well over 5 years so I was long overdue a problem ha ha A little extra info:- Disk 1 - 2TB Disk 2 - 2TB Disk 3 - 3TB Disk 4 - 2TB All in X RAID (RAID 5) around 2.5TB free space left, 23GB of snapshots After I upgraded the firmware to 6.2.5 latest the other day (coincidence I think) I started to get a lot of AAT errors on Disk 3. I removed the disk and tried to put a 1TB in its place but it came up with the flashing data degraded and kept doing so and did not even try and add the new 1TB disk into the pool. I put the original 3TB disk back in, and it started to recover data (albeit very slowly) 5% in 24 hours. So my question is, once it has recoved all data, should I be able to just add a 2TB drive (looking at the free space above of 2.5TB) I should have around 500GB of spare space? Thank you in advance for any help1.6KViews0likes6CommentsReadynas Duo V2 cannot access configuration
I have a ReadyNAS Duo v2 connected to my home network with both Mac & PC (Win10) on the network with 2x4TB drives installed. Firmware version 5.3.13 I can perform write actions (add files, make new folders, rename files/folder etc) to the NAS share drives from the Mac, but not from the PC where I can only read the share files. Can access config page ReadyNAS [version 1.0.0.271] no problem. Share folders are all set up with Read/Write access for Everyone. No specific users are set up. Protocol-specific Settings are set to Automatic Permissions [checked] and Read/Write Access for all of : Folder Creation Group Rights; Folder Creation Everyone Rights; File Creation Group Rights; and File Creation Everyone Rights. I can't see anywhere else where to adjust the write permissions. Logs attached. Thanks in advance Phil1.5KViews0likes1CommentSMB Hidden Folders are not 'hidden'
Hi, I'm having a strange issue with hiding folders on my RN102. I have set certain folders to hidden that I dont want visible. On my linux box if I naviage to smb://nas2.local/ I only get three folders Music Pics Videos This is great. However if I navigate to the same path on my Windows boxes I have a extra folder data Music Pics Videos If I navigate in to the data folder every folder is visible, both hidden and non hidden. It's similar on the xbox/PS4. If I navigate to the NAS I get three folders to search but if I search by folder the entire contents of the data folder is visible. Can this be avoided? Thanks.Solved2.1KViews0likes2Commentsbluetooth
I purchased a RN524X 4 bay and it came with a Bluetooth dongle which I plugged into the unit and I can see that it is showing on my admin page. What is its function and how do I connect to it. I searched it with my phone and I see a number discovered but I don't know if that is it and I don't know how to connect to it and what its function would be for.2.2KViews1like5CommentsRN102 power led keeps blinking after firmware update
After bringing the V1.3.0.20_10.1.1 down and installing it, during the restart, the power light began flashing and I could no longer get the device to load. Is there a way to restore the firmware or does anyone else have suggestions?986Views0likes2CommentsReadyNAs NV don't start anymore
Hello, I have a problem with my old NV. since today don't start anymore. Maybe could be the internal power supply? How can I solve? I have 4 HD full of information. Can I move one of the HD to the other ReadyNAS 104 that I have? Many thanksSolved2.3KViews0likes7CommentsWake on LAN, ReadyNAS 102
I have a very strange problem with WOL. When my ReadyNAS is "warm", I am able to start it with WOL. However, when it is "cold", e.g. when I didn't use my ReadyNAS for one day, then WOL is not working. I performed a factory default one year ago and since then the problem is existing. Maybe something was "deleted" on the network card when I performed the factory default. Before I could start the ReadyNAS in my Fritz!Box, but when the ReadyNAS is "cold" this is not working in Fritz!Box any longer. However, when the ReadyNAS is "warm" (meaning it has been running before) it works on Fritz!Box. I restarted my Fritz!Box, assuming the the problem was when the router is restarted, but as long as the ReadyNAS is "cold" I can start the ReadyNAS with WOL. Only when it's "cold" is doesn't start. Would be great if anyone could help me, because with my Fritz!Box I was able to start the ReadyNAS from anywhere as long as I had internet-connection. My firmware is 6.6.1, I use window 10.8.9KViews0likes31CommentsFail power supply RND4000v3

Hello, I've recently set up a OpenVPN tunnel from my ReadyNas Duo 104 with my VPN service provider (ivpn.net). Everything is working fine, but I am experiencing massive performance losses. I'm on a 100/10 Mbit connection and without VPN i can max out my bandwidth's download speed on my NAS. As soon as i connect to the VPN my download speed goes down to as low as 8Mbit/s. I have no problems what so ever using the vpn on other platforms (windows, ios), and the server responds within 20-30ms. I've been messing around with the MTU size, different ports and everything I could find out. Does anyone know what I can do? Is the hardware in the NAS simply too weak for encrypting my data to meet those speeds? Any tips are helpful. Thanks!4KViews0likes2Comments
