I have to admit, this is my first time trying to extend my wireless range, and I'm confused by the whole access point concept. It seems like what I really want is a repeater, but that mode isn't available on the 4300v2. I have two 4300v2 units. One is set as a normal wifi router. I want to setup a second 4300v2 to extend the range of this "base" router. Ideally, I want the wifi SSID and passcode to be the same between the two wifi units. So the wireless client can move seamlessly between the two without having to make new connections. When I follow the instructions to set the second unit as an Access Point, it gets assigned an IP from the original router as 10.0.0.1. I then take the access point and move it away from the original router. Just within wireless range of the original router. I don't connect anything to the WAN port of the AP. My wifi client has good signal from the AP, but is unable to obtain an IP address. What am I doing wrong? I am having an issue with my WNDR4300 N750 WiFi Dual Band Gigabit Router running on firmware version V1.0.0.32. It would seem that this router is cutting off connections with the Playstation Network. Having used a previous router and everything working fine, after the installation of the new router, PSN on my PS4 and the PS App on my phone cannot connect. After having been through several calls with both the PS support and my ISP support, I am hoping to find some solutions here. The easiest solution to me at the moment is to simply buy a new router, but I would prefer being able to use this one. Hope someone can help with this issue!SolvedWNDR 4300 loses 2.4GHz Radio daily
I purchased a 4300 router in November of 2013. Soon after purchase I had to reboot the router daily to keep the wireless working. Tech support provided a new firmware update which solved the problem. Fast forward to December 2014 and the router started dropping the 2.4GHz band radio weekly. Now I had to reboot daily or I lose those devices that lack a 5GHz radio. This is very frustrating, I can't seem to keep Netgear routers up and running. My router's current firmware is 1.0.1.60 and when I do a check for new firmware the router reports No new firmware version available. I'm at my wits end with this router which replaced a WNDR 4000 that had similar issues then died altogether in under 18 months. There has got to be a way to keep my Router up and working. Anyone possibly has any ideas on how to correct this issue? Thanks in advance. SteveSolvedWNDR4300v2 and Chromecast
Anyone else having issues with Chomecast and the v2 version of this router? All Chromecast compatible apps are missing the cast button until I reboot the Chromecast. It stays functional for about 5 minutes. It's still pingable and the Chromcast app says "ready to cast".SolvedHow do I connect to my 5Ghz Network with my LAN?
So I'm going to preface this with a note that I believe I have some idea of what's going on but I could actually have no idea whats going on and make no sense. So be prepared for that. I have a WNDR4300 N750 Wireless Dual Band Gigabit Router and what I believe to be is a pretty simple problem. I have a LAN connected to the router into my computer and would like to be using the 5 Ghz network, but it has automatically set me up on the 2.4 Ghz network. I've tried every way I can think of of disconnecting and reconnecting and going on the NETGEAR Genie but nothing seems to work. This is not an issue of whether anything is supported or not, because we had an old router with the exact same dual band capability and I connected to the 5 Ghz just fine. I can also see the 5 Ghz network wirelessly on my phone, so it's obviously there. That about sums it up. Any help would be greatly appreciated. Thanks.Solved206KViews0likes13Comments
