12 TopicsHas anyone figured out how to get Device Mgr to show in the Duma OS XR1000 Nighthawk?
Upgraded firmware from Version: 1.0.0.74 to Current Version of 1.0.1.82_1.0.67 I have rebooted, I've cleared cache, I've switched from Edge, to Firefox, to Chrome. I've tried all 3 in private mode. I've dumped all temp files everywhere. NOTHING seems to get this gosh darn page working. Anyone have any guidance?9Views0likes1CommentUnable to change some settings on RAXE500 Router without having an active subscription to Defender!!
OK, so I had no issues with the router for the last couple of years (while I had an active subscription to the defender software. I have a 1TB fibre connection and noticed that I was mostly only getting 300mb/s download speeds, upload was 980mb/s - After troubleshooting with my ISP, it turned out that the issue was with my Netgear RAXE500 router (supposedly all singing and dancing!!) I looked at the QoS and deactivated it - prior to this, all my connected devices had been allowed and were all showing as such in the browser connection and on the nighthawk app. But once I deactivated the QoS option, My speed increased to where it should be around 880mb/s - 950mb/s - I thought, 'great, that has solved things' However....Now, devices on my network intermittently lose connection, when I enter the browser to check some show that they are now blocked....When i click access control, I get prompted to change this via the nighthawk app, but in the nighthawk app, this only shows a green light next to online dives, and there is no way to block or allow access for each device. I tried disabling remote access, so I could do this via the browser option, but the page briefly shows up, then disappears and i get the same message telling me to use the nighthawk app. I never had this issue while I had the defender subscription. So, it looks like you have to spend £80/annum just so you can change normal settings within the router which is extremely disappointing!! As a result, I have resorted to reinstating my ISP's original router and now everything works as normal, and I am able to manage my devices easily. I will stay well clear from netgear in future.....52Views0likes4CommentsStuck in a dilemma in regards to Nighthawk configuration and management
After almost five decades of working in the comp tech industry I developed an eye condition limiting my ability to utilize technology. In particular, mobile tech. Besiides the fact that I have worked for far too long in tech to trust any mobile device. (Yes, I ran cfw on all my phones that could support it) And just in case you are concerned that my device was the limiting factor, I attempted it on 5 different devices with 3 different OS's not including my wife's cell which is stock Samsung and still couldn't found the app unusable. So, mobile apps are out as they are illegible. Great, I attempted the alternative methods via web config and management on the PC. Yet there is a problem there as well. To get my PC screen semi-usable with my eye limitations it makes quite a few website features difficult if not impossible to use. (IE: on the http://www.netgear.com website, without fiddling around with the display settings, I can't see half the links at the top. "NETGEAR", Search, Account and cart don't exist unless I happen to float over them. Didn't even know they were there until I accidentally hovered over one of them and I saw it highlight.) Going to attempt to attach a screen shot so you can see an example of what I put up with just trying to do some basic things on a comnputer. This makes the web admin difficult to use as there are quite few options that the toggle or check box doesn't show or doesn't indicate when it has been activated even when it does show or links that I don't even know if they might exist. Now that we have taken a basic look at my issue with continued use of technology (it's almost masochistic that I keep trying to use tech at this point)(I get a headache within an hour of two of trying to force myself to read a computer screen. Genie, although not as streamlined at this point and currenlty discontinued, was at least usable and I would have probably continued to use if I didn't have to upgrade to Windows 11 (FU MS for not supporting slighter older procs even on a system that fully supported tpm 2.0), and also didn't have to upgrade my wi-fi router as my previous one EOS'd earlier this month. So, main points: Can't use Mobile App. Web Admin slightly more usable but limited for monitoring as I would have to log in routinely as opposed to having an app on my pc to monitor and config The app that was usable is dicontinued. I didn't see anything for any form of third party standardized management such as SNMPv3 while going through the web admin. (did I miss it?) Base overall query: Any chance there is an updated "Genie" in the works? Is there any other alternatives I should attempt to look at? Barring a positive workable answer to the two previous questions, I will have to hunt for an alternative solution and circular file my most recent netgear purchase and discontinue my relationship with the company. Thanks for your time, consideration and overall patience, -G P.S. if you look at the attached image, you shoudl see what I am referring to in regards to apparent missing links such as search, account and cart.42Views0likes1CommentExternal IP Address is a private IP
Hello, How do I find the public IP address for my router? The IP in the Nighthawk app for External IP Address is a private IP and not a public IP. Because of this, it is breaking my tv streaming IP as it is a private IP address and they require my location through a public IP. I cannot find how to change this to a public IP or where I can get a public IP. And I cannot contact support as my router is 2 years old.153Views0likes12CommentsLogin no longer works
I have 2 EX7300v2 extenders which I have always controlled using the Nighthawk app. When I try to go into the app, it continuously says that my login is invalid. It says I have the incorrect admin password. I have tried everything to reset the password and have had no success. Neither of my extenders are currently working and I need to get into the app to see what is going on. Any suggestions?70Views0likes2CommentsUnreliable
I am pulling my hair out with this Mesh system. I've had a lot of Netgear equipment over the years and I got this Nighthawk system back in January and it's been a pain ever since. Need to reboot it constantly. Devices fall off WiFi and won't connect, I reboot it and then they connect again. I changed the 5G channel today because it was similar to my neighbors and had to reset and completely reconfigure both satellites. The "anywhere" access has never worked. I am running the latest firmware. The app is just clunky. My house is only 2500 sq ft on two floors and I have the router and two satellites placed equidistant from each other. Both say "good" on the backhaul status. I am not looking for some magical fix. Kinda just venting. Is the Orbi system better? Does it use the same app? About ready to give up on Netgear or maybe go back to a single high end router instead of the Mesh system. Thank you in advance for any help.Solved2.2KViews0likes5Comments
