I have Orbi 763 , connected with parental control profiles , whenever a device goes offline and back online joining wifi it moves from that profile to home profile , setting all control setting to non , that usually happens with apple products more often than other any trick to stick the device to a certain profile , such as using mac-address or whatever help appreciated thanksUnable to add devices in Parental Controls
I have an Orbi RBR850 which is running the most current version of software. Within the Orbi app in devices i can see both the 'home' devices and the section i created for my child, lets call it 'kids'. When i try to move some devices over from 'home' to 'kids' it will not allow me to do so. I would like to get this done so i can block certain websites for all their devices without impacting myself or my wife. Has anyone else seen this issue? Also when blocking websites, i go into 'kids' and look at site manager. Is there a way to block things like youtube.com/shorts without blocking all of youtube?RAX10 still does not support Smart Parental Controls in 2026
I can confirm that the RAX10 still does not support Smart Parental Controls in 2026. I spent 1 hour trying to set it up, trying updating router firmware and using different mobile devices. I'm having the same issue on my rs300. Parental controls just randomly stopped working. Ive tried everything mentioned here, and none of it works. Gone 2 months of my 1 year sub without the controls. My solution is to just change my network passwords daily which is a pain. Looking like a factory reset is the only option and reconnecting 35 devices. To top it all off you need to pay for chat support now (paid over $300usd for this router 8 months ago ) glad to see the product support has gone out the window.No Parental Controls
Hope no one minds the reboot a few years later.... Working with an Orbi RBR750 running V7.2.7.15_5.1.16, and any time I go to add a device to Apple Home, get messages that router does not support HomeKit. Have to say I am am a bit surprised, especially when there is a dedicated band for IOT, to the point where I am thinking it must be me and configuration settings preventing devices from being added to HomeKit. Anyone running HomeKit from an Orbi? What tips or tricks worked to get the devices added? Adding a device works as expected up until the last second when the error is displayed. Over the last weekend I just moved from a older Orbi setup to a new 870 with two satellites. I won't go into all of the issues I had getting it up and running since for the most part things seemed to be working until I noticed a device I had added after the initial set-up would not show in either the App or in the web-browser yet it had a IP address and seemed to be working. A two hour call on Saturday where we saw that the satellites did not show IP addresses, all devices would not show in either the app or the web browser, could not get the Access Control to show any devices........ and Parental Access which I did not start during the initial set-up has turned on and seemed to be blocking access. We performed a reset and began to install everything from the beginning. When we did this everything seemed to be working but we could not get past the Parental Control page and finally just turned it off within the app. So after this was completed everything seemed to be working Saturday night I proceeded to spend another hour updating all of the names etc in the App and went to bed thinking all was good. I told the support individual I would call back Monday to work on the Parental Control problem. Well Monday I tried to get a new IP address for another laptop and damn if the device would not show up in the App nor on the web browser yet it had an address and was working fine. Another call to support, another two hours on the phone trying to get devices to show up. (After a soft reboot only 14 of ~30 devices showed as connected yet the other ~16 were working) Again Parental Controls was bering blamed for now IP addresses showing for satellites, only a partial list of connected devices showing in the APP or browser, no access to Advanced-Security- Access Control, etc. This third ticket is still open while the individual waits to get a response from someone who can turn off Parental Control.Nintendo Switch wont connect to internet but can connect to my router.
I have a AX6000 orbi system. When I first set the system up several months ago, all my devices, except an older samsung tv connected without a hitch. Recently I used the parental controls in the orbi app to pause my sons internet connection on his switch. When I unpaused it, the switch no longer connects to the internet. I have been able to hotspot from my phone as long as it's not on the wifi successfully, as well as turning the old wifi network on from my ISP to verify that the switch can work. I did leave my old ISP wifi on for a couple of days as I couldn't figure ot out and that has caused issues with performance of my orbi system so want to get this sorted asap. I have a ISP modem router that provides a landline and 5g internet redundancy for outages causing me to leave in place and plug the orbi into this as the wifi. The orbi app and switch shows the device connected to the orbi system, just unable to reach the internet. I've tried manually setting up the configuration on the switch but that's not working at all. Not sure why it's gone from working well to no longer working well just because I pressed pause on the connect. I have reset the orbi and the switch a number of times also to no joy. Thanks in advance
