I've noticed something strange whenever my RAX30 sends DHCP DISCOVER messages to my ISP DHCP server to obtain an IP address. The DHCP specification RFC2131 talks about a field in the DHCP DISCOVER payload called "SECS" that indicates how long a client has been waiting for an IP address. I've found that my RAX30 router never updates the "SECS" field when it sends DISCOVER packets. It is always kept at 0 secs, despite retrying a couple times a couple seconds apart. While normally this isn't an issue, I've found that this anomalous behavior is keeping my RAX30 router from obtaining an IP address from my ISP's DHCP servers. I'm in contact with the ISP to try and resolve things on their side, but I'm also trying to understand if this is a bug in the RAX30 firmware. Can anyone help me?RAX30 Dropping WiFi Randomly
Hey there, I have a 1.5 year old RAX30, running firmware version 1.0.14.108_1, and it will randomly drop wifi on a number of devices I have connected, until I reboot the router then it works fine for anywhere from a few hours to a week, then will just randomly drop it again. Logs don’t show any events that could be causing it, at a complete loss hereNighthawk Rax30 not showing correct speed after fiber installed
Old comcast name/login on Nighthawk rax30 does not allow full speed of new ATT fiber speed of 500. Instead, speed test shows 87. ATT technician connected my NH to the ATT Gateway with an ethernet cable. When I connect to a wifi network, I have a choice of my "old" comcast name or the new ATT name. I'm assuming the ATT is broadcasting from the ATT Gateway as the speed test shows 480 (out of 500). When I unplug my NH, my old comcast network name doesn't connect, but the ATT does. So, that's why I assume the ATT network is broadcasting from the ATT Gateway. But if the pass through cable to my router is sending the same signal, then my old name should show the same speed, I would think. What am I not understanding? Thanks for any help!
