I am trying to set up my ReadyNas to allow me to get remote access so that I can listen to music stored on the NAS on my Android phone. I can access the files on my phone via the ReadyCloud app, but when I try and open one of the files remotely to listen to it, I get 'The location http//127.0.0.1:8787/'filename'.mp3' cannot be played. These files play happily on on LAN so I must be missing something on the Readycloud set up, but I have no idea what. I am not very teccy, so if you are happy to help please could any response bear this in mind. If relevant, the model is a ReadyNAS 31200, although I can't get this in the model field for seom reason.2.9KViews0likes4Commentsreadynas 102 cannot connect to readycloud app
Hi, I have a netgear readynas 102, I know it's one of the older models but it worked like a charm until last week. First my pc would not connect anymore, then my mobile app, now the laptop app is not connecting anymore. The only way to connect to it is through my internet browser, but i cannot seem to download my files to store them succesfully elsewhere. Can anybody help me to safely download my files so i would not have lost 5+ years of photo's and digital work? I tried upgrading the firmware, it says i have the latest, yes it will not work. Thanks in advance!1.5KViews0likes3CommentsReadyNAS online (VPN Disconnected)
I have a large number of clients with Ready NAS devices I support ranging from a RN2304 to 526X to a 214 all running 6.10.8 OS with the Windows App v1.20, different locations, different remote computers/laptops, and different networks and even ISPs. Every one of them has suddenly shown the VPN Disconnected error when attempting to access vis the Windows ReadyCloud Client. I've followed all the suggestions in the other threads with similar issues, DNS, fixed IP/DHCP, Virus Protect, reboots, removed the app - downloaded and reinstalled and reset the ReadyCloud connection multiple times. Nothing will connect the Windows App to the VPN. (Interestingly the 526X will connect to the VPN for a short time when I reset the ReadyCloud link under the Cloud tab but within 15 minutes will show the same error again) All NAS devices will access via the web browser and the ReadyCloud Android app with no issues and local access is working fine. I've even removed the leaf drivers and reset the networking components on the laptops that are running the Windows app. This error has happened in the past three years (twice) and in every case the reset of the connection under the cloud tab has worked, but this time nothing... Any help or updated resolutions (as the last one I found was 2021 and it was all the same stuff rehashed) would be appreciated as my clients do use this function and the web browser is very clunky for them to use regularly. Thanks!1.3KViews0likes2CommentsServer online (VPN disconnected)
A quick google search tells me this is a recurring issue and I haven't seen a viable solution yet, but figure I'd put it out there myself: I remote connect to our NAS. I've had very few issues in the past year, but suddenly I'm getting a VPN Disconnected message. I can access the NAS through the web interface just fine. I've restarted the readycloud app, I've uninstalled and reinstalled, I've rebooted the NAS, I've updated the firmware (6.10.8), and no matter what, I can no longer connect. Anyone have the magic bullet on this one? ReadyNAS 3121.4KViews0likes3CommentsReadyNAS 422 Search only available on Admin?
We have been using the ReadyNAS 422 successfully for our business and recently turned on the Search feature. It seems that search is only available on the Admin panel when logged in locally. We would like to have search available for our remote employees who login to the web UI to access the NAS. Is this feature available? It would seem to be a pretty basic use case Running 6.10.8 Thanks, Andy1.3KViews0likes3CommentsReadyNAS 214 One Drive Cloud sync issues
Ready NAS 214 6.10.7 Got some challenges with this with old sync data. So on the NAS - I've disabled the sync / deleted the OneDrive content / disabled snapshots. On One Drive - I've deleted everything / emptied the bin / let it all resync One Drive Cloud Sync app on the NAS is reporting storage in use - 775Gb of 1Tb available One Drive app on my phone shows 387Gb of data synced 365 Cloud admin portal shows just under 610Gb data stored of 1Tb available One Drive Storage used in my 365 user admin portal says 51.8Gb used out of 1Tb available Actual local File Data to sync - 387.5Gb I can't work out why there is such a massive difference between the reported figures. My gut feeling is that 51Gb is the actual space in use after compression at the OneDrive server end. The other figures are the uncompressed ones and that the NetGear NAS is simply fibbing about the actual amount in use. Or the changes i've made / fixed file sync are just taking their sweet time to ripple out through the various reporting functions. Has anyone else noticed this / found a fix for it? Cheers, PatrickSolved3KViews0likes5CommentsIs there an upload file size limit?
As subject states. When uploading via the readycloud.netgear.com page, large uploads work fine. When uploading via readycloud when remote, uploads fail. There is no detailed error, just failed to upload. I suspect there is a limit, but the engineers decided to keep us in the dark as to what that is. It's hardly a good solution for backup and sharing remotely if there are arbitrary limits that are not documented, nor are they spelled out in an error message. What is the upload limit, and why?3.9KViews0likes14Comments
