rsync ReadyNAS 314 folder security change
1 TopicRsync from ReadyNAS Pro 4 to ReadyNAS 314
Hello all, I have a ReadyNAS Pro 4 running on RAIDiator 4.2.27 and a newly installed ReadyNAS 314 running on OS 6.4.0. I've configured backup jobs on ReadyNAS 314 to use "remote: Rsync Server", to pull data from ReadyNAS Pro 4. The source shares are regular CIFS/SMB shares with Active Directory integration. (I've tested the connection to the source share, the credentials are fine. Destination share on ReadyNAS314 has been set up with the right permission, all is OK. Since it's an internal LAN backup job, I'm not using any SSH security or compression features) I've created a schedule - and all jobs complete successfully. However... When I try to access the destination shares, I can see and access the files - but ALL subfolders have their ownership and permissions changed. Namely, ownership it simply says "Unable to display current owner". When I change the ownership to myself, I look at Permissions and it shows that "Everyone" has only Special permissions, 35033 (Unix User\35033) and 35004 (Unix Group\35004) are added by default (?), Creator Owner and Creator group also have restricted permissions. Looking into share settings, I can see that Network Access and File Access have changed accordingly as well. Is Rsync between different OS and different models even supported? I should think so. So, what's causing this security change...? Regards, Igor
