76 Topics2.4 GHz and 5 GHz blinking on cable modem router
My internet has been dropping, Xfinity came out and their service is working. Xfinity mentioned that the NightHawk AX6 model CAX30s has issues and they were told to direct customers to Netgear. I called Netgear they agreed the issue was their product and they could fix it for me for a $100 service contract that would cover me for 1 year. Basically they were going to wipe out the modem and reset and upgrade it. I’ve only had this modem router for 1-1/2 years and I’ve had a lot of issues with it reconnecting properly after power outages. I can’t believe Netgear won’t reset it for free what a total disappointment. I don’t feel comfortable paying $100 when it’s not something I did or an out dated unit. I’m going to try to reboot it myself. Thoughts or advice?3.1KViews0likes5CommentsNetgear C7000v2 USB Not showing NAS (Network Attached Storage)
I have a c7000v2 Netgear router/modem. I am trying to install a NAS to the USB port located at the top of the router. I have a 64 Gig Flash drive plugged in. When I log into the router, the Genie software runs. At the home tab the USB Icon in the middle of the second row shows a green READY notation. When I click on the USB icon/button it takes me to a second screen showing USB Storage (Basic Settings). Basic radio button is pushed. Network/Device name is listed as \\readyshare. Available Network Folders has NO DEVICE LISTED. Buttons EDIT and Safely Remove USB Device are AVAILABLE. (When no Flash drive in USB Port these buttons are not available.) Under the Advanced Tab/Advanced Setup/USB Settings I have Enable any USB Device connected to the USB port YES. When I click on Approved Devices I see my USB Drive name listed under Available Devices Device Name Is Generic USB Storage and space is 60 gig. I selected it with the radio button and added it to the Approved Devices List. The Allow Only Approved Devices check box IS NOT CHECKED. These Setting have been saved. After all of this and pressing Refresh a couple of times after a few minutes, the Basic Settings still DOES NOT LIST MY DEVICE. I cannot find this device on my network although with windows I can see \\readyshare available under NETWORKS. However clicking on it shows nothing and I cannot copy anything to it. The Flash drive is formatted NTFS and there are a couple of folders created at the root level. Any help getting my flash drive to show up in the USB Basic settings I feel would correct the problem but I cannot figure out what else to do. Any help would be GREATLY APPREIATED. REGARDS and THANKS FOR READING and RESPONDING.1.2KViews0likes2CommentsDoes Ready Cloud work on AC3200 C7800 ?
I have an external hard drive attached to the USB port of my AC3200 (C7800v2). I can access the drive locally. I am trying to set it up to access remotely. I have followed instructions that say to go into the interface and look under ReadyShare. I don't see anything about Ready Cloud. I can't figure out how to link the router to the account. My router is linked to my Netgear account. I hope I didn't mess up by creating a ReadyCloud account before migrating something. Idk. I would be very grateful if someone could help walk me through the process of setting up Ready Cloud or some other way to access the drive when I am not at home. Thanks in advance for your help!476Views0likes0CommentsNighthawk C7000v2 FTP Server
Hello everyone I recently purchased this router/modem to replace my Spectrum supplied combo, I want to utilize the built in FTP server to share my 4TB external hard drive over the internet and also locally in the house. I tried a few things and read some forums but nothing has solved my issues yet. I used the built in function to create a No-IP hostname but when I try to connect to it through FTP it will say unroutable address and something about the LIST function I tried making it active instead of passive both ports are set to 21, I havent forwarded any ports. I get a prompt for the password in ftp and can access http://readyshare.routerlogin.net/shares. Networking I have never cared for. Please help.1.7KViews0likes7CommentsFalse advertising
I purchased a brand new c7000 for $170 through amazon. Upon recieving the NEW router and modem, when attempting to register the device, it was already registered under another use! They had to verify I had actually purchased the device and I had to send a copy of my order receipt. Even further when I finally got the "New" device under my account, I couldn't get past the previous owner's security questions that had already been set up! Definitely no way it wasn't used. Spent over 3 hours on the phone with netgear with being put on hold for 30 minutes twice. I even had to call a second time after the first person I first spoke with said they would call back if we got disconnected. They never did. Then when they said they were going to escalalte the issue, they wouldn't get back to me for 3 hours. Guess what? Still no call! Everything about this experience is so unethical and false advertizing.3KViews0likes15CommentsC7800 model variants
There are two versions of the C7800 model out there and I wanted to know if anyone knows what the actual differences between the two are? I was initially informed that the C7800-100NAS and C7800-200NAS were identical with the exception that the 200NAS came with newer firmware out the box. Supposedly the C7800-100NAS would be a better buy cause it was cheaper for coming with older firmware but would update itself to the latest firmware on connecting to the internet negating any difference between the two. I ended up picking up the C7800-100NAS. After purchase I noticed that on the upper right hand corner of the box where the: C7800-200NAS box says DOCSIS 3.1 Up to 10Gbps my C7800-100NAS box says DOCSIS 3.1 Up to 6GBps I was wondering if this difference came down to a change in firmware or hardware? If it is a firmware issue then does that mean that my C7800-100NAS [running firmware v3.01.43] was upgraded to 10GBps max too or is it relegated to a 6Gbps max?1.4KViews0likes1CommentNETGEAR Nighthawk AC1900 WiFi Cable Modem + Router (C7000)

I recently had an RMA approved and decided to pay to receive the replacement first and then send mine back. It was supposed to come with a return label but there wasn’t any clearly visible on the packaging so I had to pay another 20 dollars to send it through USPS. The issue is that after waiting two days for the package to be delivered I checked the tracking number and USPS said they couldn’t deliver the package because they couldn’t access the delivery location. Is there anything I can do? The ten days for sending the defective product are almost up and if it doesn’t get delivered I’ll be charged the full 200 dollars for the new product and it’s safe to say I don’t want that happening. Is there a way to contact the building specifically and tell them about the delivery somehow?Solved1.6KViews0likes5Comments
