When trying to shutdown my ReadyNAS 204 it hangs with an error of do_exit+9ec on display. The only way to recover is to disconnect the AC power cord and reconnect. I have the most current version of firmware as of 05/27/17. Version 6.7.4. Same error occurs regardless of how it is done. Occurs when shutting down from the power button or from the system device webpage. Any suggestions? Had a similar problem when I first purchased this unit. A beta firmware solved the problem then. The problem reappeared when upgrading to the next publicly available released firmware. Please advise. Hello, We have recently replaced the 1 TB disks in our ReadyNAS unit with 8 TB Seagate disks and the upgrade went smoothly. However, since the upgrade, we're getting random automatic shutdowns of the whole unit. The logs show that this was because temperatures of different disks reach a critical point of 61 C. I already set the fans to be "Balanced" and to even the maximal setting to "Cool". What is strange is that in the web interface, the SATA SMART information does not consistently show the disk temperatures. Sometimes the temperatures are blank and if I hover over the disk it shows "-1 C". Is there a known compatibility problem reading the SMART fields from these disks? Does anyone have a solution to this other than the unsafe option to uncheck the shutdown if the disks get too hot? Thanks. CengizSolved3.8KViews0likes7CommentsReadyNAS 104 shuts down with no reason
Hello, I have a ReadyNas 104 (firmware 6.4.0) with two disks inside (WD40EFRX and WD20EARS), in "JBOD". Two days ago i found it turned off. I checked the logs (web) but I didn't find any entry related to the shutdown. Also I saw the new fw 6.4.2, but I preferred not to install it because the sudden shutdown. Today, I've found it turned off again. No logs, no info. I've downloaded the logs and haven't found anything. I haven't had any power failure, I haven't seen any temp issue or similar... the disks seems to be ok (at least, is what the admin page/Performance/Status says). I have the alerts configured and haven't received anything, just the typical "Volume data usage exceeds 70% of size (3.6 TB)." when I booted it again, nothing else. Any idea? I don't want to upgrade the fw because this issue. I've seen a similar post here (https://community.netgear.com/t5/Using-your-ReadyNAS/ReadyNAS-104-keeps-shutting-down/td-p/1058609) but I haven't received any alerts related to the disks, so I don't know how to proceed. Hello community, I have a problem with my RN214. It`s not shutting down properly. It makes no difference if I do it from the webgui nor with the power bottom. After a few seconds it shows "do_exit+8c4" on the display and nothing happens after that. Currently have the newest firmware installed -> 6.4.2. I have read a few posts about this issue but the only "solution" was to change the bond mode from LACP (which I had also configured) to ALB or TLB. Now I have changed my mode to ALB the same message accured on the display. :smileyfrustrated: I don' t know what to do. I also found nothing in the webgui logs nor system logs (ssh). Can anyone can get me a hand? Thank you Kalle3.5KViews0likes5Comments6.4.0 with RN104 - No Longer Shuts Down. Any Ideas?
Hey Guys, Ive been using My RN104 for a while, but since upgrading the firmware as per the login page the ReadyNas no longer shuts down. Ive tried the pressing the power button and follow the on display prompt to shut it down. It would appear that it does shut down as the HDD's turn off but the PSU fan keeps spinning with a Shutting message on the LCD display (Went a way for a few days and it was still shutting down). It was working fine with the previous FW and there have been no extra apps installed on this NAS as its basically a FTP/backup server Also with this issue is causing the auto on/off function not to work any more. Does any one else havethis issue or any idea on how to resolve this? Many thanks, Aaron2.8KViews0likes3Comments
