Hi, I have a problem with my ReadyNAS. the RALUS for BackupExec doesn't work anymore. I can't see it in the favorites ressources in BE2010. It disappeared just after a backup. I don't understand why. IP address of the BE server in the NVX is correct. I have update the RALUS add on on the NAS with the Last Version but it's still the same. I connect to the NAS with SSH in the ralus.cfg , IP address is correct. I think it's a problem of "publishing" the Agent. have you got a link to download the old version of RALUS addon . Thank you. Hello, I am Trying to backup a 2TB drive with Backup Exec System Recovery (BESR 2010) to a Share that was created on my ReadyNas NV+. The job starts and gets to about 5% then gives me these error messages: error EBAB03F1:Error performing inpage operation unable to set file size error EBAB03F1: The specified network name is no longer available unable to write to file I can successfully backup to another location, just not to the readyNas. Ive tried mapping using \\<IP ADDRESS>\sharename and to \\NAS_NAME\Share Any help would be greatly appreciated! Thanks Flan3.2KViews0likes1CommentBE word of warning for users
Just thought I would share a word of warning to you. IF you use this product (or any that rely on SQL server) remember to get teh SQL server management tools and set up jobs to back up the MAST and MODEL databases as well on the management server. We lost the management server and the symantec databases as well in a big crash. for whatever reason, the way the backups were done by the symantec tools recovery was not an option and therefore all of our backups, jobs, history etc were lost, we had to start from scratch. It could have been our installation, was not me that did it. I came it after that person quit.3KViews0likes1CommentBackup Exec 2014 and x86 ReadyNAS??
Is there any brave soul who has already tried running his/her Readynas x86 ( RAIDiator 4.2.xx) with Backup Exec 2014? Currently I am running BE 2012 (14.0 rev 1798) with the trusty RALUS agent 13.0.5204.1 (2010) and that works ok, apart from the warning in each backup that I need to update my agent but I wonder if the combination BE2014~RALUS 2010 might be taking things one step too far. :|4.6KViews0likes3CommentsRND104 Catastrophic Failure
I recently bought an RND104 (2 weeks ago) with the supported WD RED 2Tb NAS drives. I updated the unit to Firmware 6.1.6 and configured my system for RAID10 to provide the best protection possible. All was well for 2 weeks, however when I restarted the unit one day the system reported that the data was degraded on disks 1 and 4 with multiple ATA errors on each drive and the system would rebuild on the other two drives. As the rebuild was occuring the system then reported ATA errors on disks 2 and 4 and that the system would be shutting down. The Supplier of the system struggles to believe it is an issue with 4 new drives all of the same specification, Netgear support think it may be a faulty unit, but this is now between the supplier and Netgear. Meanwhile I am sat here with a two week old expensive tin box that I have rebuilt again but cannot trust the reliability of it in my business. Anyone have experience of this issue and how to resolve it quickly2.4KViews0likes1CommentTape based backup?
I'm new to the ReadyNAS product but have a ReadyNAS Pro Business Edition that I'm now responsible for managing. Its only a small company (10 users) so I've set it up as a file server with the NAS handling all the logins/permissions etc. The only thing external I have added is an APC UPS. I need to put in place a backup system that will allow me to take the media off site for safe storage. In the past on the Windows and Novell servers I have managed I have used a tape system, doing incremental backups during the week and partial or full backups at the weekends, but its been quite a while since I have done any of this so my knowledge is a little out of date. The ideal system would be a tape drive I can connect directly to the NAS and software running on the NAS that would perform scheduled backup then all I or my boss would need to do was remember to swap the tapes at the appropriate time. Can anyone recommend a way to do this for the ReadyNAS, I'm looking for a suitable tape drive and software (I have now knowledge of the Backup Exec, or Rsync) Thanks3.9KViews0likes1CommentNetgear ReadyNAS 3200 + Backup Exec 2012

I read already here: http://www.readynas.com/forum/viewtopic.php?t=62604 that this is not possible, but is it really not possible? We have the datas in the egnyte cloud and on the NAS, but we want to have it also on tape! Any help for this?3.5KViews0likes1CommentSymantec Backup Exec 2010 R3 SP3 - RALUS Update?
Hi All, I have been using Backup Exec 2010 R3 for quite a while with RALUS 13.0 installed on my ReadyNAS 2100, after installing SP3 last night the backup report now requests an update for RALUS but I cannot locate one.
