Good day community! I have a problem with the XR500 router. Stopped working normally. It does not load to the end, does not work wifi, does not go to routerlogin and does not ping its IP address. When turned on, power lights up in orange, and after 15 seconds any connected cable (1-4). 2 flashing options did not work. The reset did not work. It goes into flashing mode when holding the reset and turning on the power (in white). What do you suggest to do? try sewing via USB UART? Hello, the past few months I have been having issues with my Nighthawk xr300. Seemingly at random my wifi and ethernet connection speeds will drop from 350mbps to 70-100mbps. Last time I was able to resolve this issue by switching from the first ethernet port on the back of my router to the forth. I have tried searching the internet for answers and have tried a lot of the recommended solutions but none seem to work for my current situation. Any suggestions would be appreciated, thank you. Things already tried: - Rebooting router and ISP modem both through software and hard reset - Updating firmware of Nighthawk xr300 - Factory reset of Nighthawk xr300 - Isolating router as issue (Direct connect to ISP modem gives normal speeds of 350mbps) - Try all four ports on back of Nighthawk xr300 Firmware: 1.0.3.78_10.3.59 Note: Nighthawk XR300 wouldn't show up for associated productsSolved3.2KViews0likes8CommentsNetgear network speeds
So I have a home network with a mix of Win7 (Pro and Ultimate) and Win10 (Pro and LTSB) machines, desktops, towers, NUC and SFF laptops and tablets. Both wired and wireless. The Netgear Nighthawk XR1000 router sits in the centrally located kitchen with an Ethernet connection to the NUC from the router switch. (6ft. Cat7 cable) This unit can consistently achieve 940Mbps speed tests to a specific Spectrum speedtest site. The router also has a switched connection to my office with a 60 ft. Cat 6a cable to a 1Gbps brand new GS108Ev3 Netgear managed switch (supports Jumbo Packets) and 20 ft. Cat 6a patch cables to each of the three other machines there. All Speedtests are done to the same site with Ookla speedtest.exe software at random intervals, and this software keeps a csv record. This is not a browser web based speedtest. Laptop One, consistently gets in the 400Mbps plus range. It has a 1Gbps USB3 Express card to Ethernet adapter. The network adapter in the docking station on this unit is connected to a printer on a different IP subnet. Laptop Two, is an identical model to laptop one with the same model Ethernet adapter. It consistently gets no more or less than 250Mbps tests. Both from the docking station nic and the usb adapter nic. Desktop Three, consistently gets 200 to 300 Mbps readings. Although there will be an occasional 400-600Mbps reading. This machine has two Nic’s down on the motherboard. Intel 82579LM Gigabit Network Connection, for Printer and NAS Intel 82574L Gigabit Network Connection, for Internet These three machines have a mix of AV and Firewall, both ZoneAlarm and MSE. Turning ZA on and off seems to make no difference at all. Nothing unusual about the software loads, MS Office, Norton Ghost, Adobe, Brave and/or Firefox, etc. Jumbo packets and forced 1Gbps full duplex have been enforced on all network adapters. I am looking to standardize the results from these three machines, with the control unit: the NUC. Since Ethernet is capable of supporting 940Mbps and 990Mbps with Jumbo packets, I want this. All network adapter drivers have been updated to the most current available. I do not believe that this is accountable to the speedtest server, as the NUC gets consistent test results, and I believe that this server has multiple 1Gbps connections or a 10Gbps connection to the Internet. What have I missed? Ideas?4.9KViews0likes18CommentsIssue with IP Assignment after Brownout on my XR700
Hello All, Hoping someone will be able to help me out. I have been having an issue with my router for about the past year or so where when there is a brief interruption to the power (say less then 1 min) when the router boots up most of my deceives have trouble connection and getting an IP. Looking at my Alexa's it commonly shows DHCP error. I can normally resolve this by rebooting the router a half dozen times then everything will connect with out issue. Just wondering if anyone has come across this and if there is a fix? Thankfully it is not super common but is highly annoying. My Network lay out: 1 Router 1 Nighthawk Extender 15+ Smart home devices connected via 2.4Ghz + phones ect. Happy to provide logs if will help. Kind regards, David1.9KViews0likes11Commentsxr 500
Hey everyone! I've had this problem for about 2 years now and have just kinda dealt with it. Trying to login to WebGUI I get error "DumaOS not loaded yet! Don't worry we will redirect you shortly." It never does anything past this, i've tried factory resets. Pretty much a bricked router. Anything else I could try?1.4KViews0likes5CommentsXR1000 GeoFilter RPC Error
I just bought the XR1000 router to hardwire my Xbox Series X to. After installation and setup, I downloaded the newest 1.0.0.64_1.0.49 firmware and factory reset. All of the apps work except for the Geo-Filtering. When I first clicked on it, I got an error saying it couldn't connect to the cloud. After factory resetting again and resyncing to the cloud the error finally went away (tried just resync and restart with no luck). Now though, when trying to change the home location (defaults to CA), I get the error: "RPC error 'ERROR_CMDFAIL': Exec '//usr/bin/geoip -f /tmp/geoip_ipc2 -h -a "44" -l "-89"' failed with 1". I have tried to hardwire as well as use both wifi signals with no luck. This error pops up with any of the modes (poly or address) I use. Picture of error attached.Solved6KViews0likes13CommentsConnection issues with Nighthawk XR500
I have a Nighthawk XR500, it's a XR500 V2.3.2.134 setup. I am operating it within my home. It's been working great up until recently when it starts to randomly lose Wi-Fi connection in the house. The lost is mainly on the 2.4 Ghz side of operations. I am curious to know if anyone has been having a similar issue and know how to correct this or what. I really don't want to have to replace this unit, but I will if I have to.2KViews2likes7Commentsmy 5ghz band on my XR500 nighthawk router drops me after a couple of seconds
whenever i connect to the 5ghz band on my XR500 router, after a couple of seconds it will drop me for no reason whatsoever, i am not good at giving good details, but we have had this router for years and it has never done this before, smart connect is off, the firmware is V2.3.2.114 and the os seems to be DumaOS950Views0likes2CommentsWater in internet cable XR500
Woke up, the power light and the two LAN lights on my router were blinking white, there was no connection to either of my devices and the wifi was turned off. My first instinct was to restart the router, but after a few moments it immediately went back to the same light situation. I unplugged all the cables and noticed a pool of water near the internet cable, upon dangling it, I noticed the cable was filled with water. So I had the cable replaced, but now my router will go back to the blinking lights and loss of functionality when I start it up with anything plugged in. However, if I start the router with only the power cable in, it starts up just fine, and if I plug in all the cables (internet and 2 lan cables) in after, then everything seems to work, but upon running a speed test, my speed seems to be capped at 100mbps, instead of the 500mbps which I'm supposed to receive from my ISP. I've already tried factory resetting, and updating my router to the latest firmware, but nothing has solved my problem so far. Is the router done for cause of the water damage? Or is there anything I can do to salvage the situation? Thanks for the help 🙂1.2KViews0likes3Comments
