I recently changed internet providers and now my extender won't connect. I factory reset it and used the Nighthawk app to set it up. On my phone it says it's connected, but the extender itself doesn't show it's connecting. I also have an ethernet cable connected from the extender to my desktop. My desktop still isn't connecting to the internet, so I know the extender isn't working. I called support and after TWO hours, they were unsuccessful in helping me. I'm calling back again and I've now been on hold for an HOUR! This is ridiculous. Unhappy is an understatement. Please help.1.1KViews0likes3CommentsIs there an extender with external antenna that works with RBR40 router with RBW30 satellites
I have a pole barn for mechanical repair, welding projects, work benches. The building is grounded all metal walls and roof, concrete floor, no windows. I spend a lot of time in this building and would like to have a dependable wifi signal. During nice weather I can open the door and get a good wifi signal from my Orbi satellite in the nearby garage. During unfavorable weather with the door closed I cannot get a wifi signal. Years ago before Orbi, I had a Linksys router that my Netgear Extenders EX6100 and EX3700 would connect to. I drilled a hole in the steel wall and stuck an extender antenna out the hole and it worked great. Neither of these extenders will work with my Orbi system. I have not been able to identify an extender with external antenna that works with my Orbi system. In a perfect world I could buy a Orbi satellite with an optional external antenna to stick out the hole in the wall, however, no such thing. Can anyone suggest an extender with antenna that is simple to connect to an Orbi RBR40 router with RBW30 satellites? Simple is key, I'm not a skilled IT Tech. I currently have it set up as a mesh extender as opposed to an access point. Because the devices I need to connect are wired (a server and my desktop). They are connected through a netgear 5 port “dumb” switch to the extender. The issue is I do not see the server or my desktop on the router (Xfinity xFI) they have been there before because I can see them as previously connected. Also I noticed they get assigned a virtual machine address as opposed to their MAC addresses being forwarded to the router. I thought this was supposed to act as a bridge to the router. Or is that only possible through it being an access point? Any assistance would be/is greatly appreciated thank you!528Views0likes4CommentsMR70 Loses Advanced Routing Settings
NightHawk #MR70 mesh system V1.0.3.34_2.0.58) is set up with advanced routing to some custom TCP/UDP ports. After a while (ranging from days to weeks), the advanced routing stops. When I go in to look at the settings, the list is blank. If I try to add the rules again, the system presents the message that the rule conflicts with existing service. However, when I try to search the rule it does not exist and the list remains blank. The only (temporary) solution I've found is to completely factory reset the system and re-create all the rules. Unfortunately after a few days the problem returns. I've tried backing up the settings and restoring from the backup, however the same problem persists upon restoration, even if the settings are backed up after a freshly reset system which should be error free.WiFi Extender Won’t Connect to Some Apps/Sites
My Network: AX3600 Insight Managed Router (Firmware version 10.2.0.16), AX1800 Mesh Extender (Firmware version 1.0.3.36) Issue: I recently got a new router and a range extender to help cover my whole house, but I’m running into a weird issue. When any device (phone, desktop PC, laptop, iPad) connects via the extender, it loses the ability to connect to some websites. For instance, I can connect to Facebook fine, but if I try to connect to Twitter, it fails to load. When I try to connect to those sites via the Wi-Fi from the router, everything loads perfectly. Attempted Fixes: Factory reset of both devices, firmware update, cycling both devices and the modem, cursing.5.1KViews0likes6CommentsEAX20 trying to connect to internet via port 8883
Hello everybody, I am currently seeing my EAX20 connecting to the internet a amazon data center via port 8883. I have currently blocked this but I am wondering why it does this? if it is sometthing to do with MQTT, what is it trying to do and do I need it? apart from checking for firmware updates whicj it can still do and I dont have it connected to any app or cloud services, what could be using this? Any help would be greatly appreciated as I cant find this answer anywhere and cant do a support ticket because Netgear only offers 3 months support. Anyway thank you in advance. Some sites unreachable
I can access sites like YouTube and LinkedIn but most other sites give “site unreachable” on Chrome & Safari. When I do a full reset it works for 1 day then goes back to same problem. Plus the sites that don’t work give a Unsecure Site sign in the browser address bar, even for standard reputable sites. Whitelisting sites does not work. Any advice?959Views0likes5CommentsExtender won't connect to internet
So I have had my extender about 10 months now and no real problems that I was aware of. I recently upgraded my router so went to update the information for it with the extender and have now run into issues with it even connecting to the device. Contacted support and since they only cover 90 days am well past that and their videos they directed me to make it seem like there are no issues when starting over. Can't believe nobody can help you when their device isn't working correctly. So here I am asking the community for assistance; the mywifiext does not work as it gives me a xml error, I did get the extender to connect when it is hard wired to my router but as soon as it's unplugged I have nothing even though I have a green 2.4 light, just want the extender to work as it should...any advice, thank you in advance.19KViews0likes4Comments
