For some inexplicable reason, my ReadyNAS Pro 4 can't seem to access the admin page anymore, nor can I reach it through a networked drive path. RaidAR can see the unit and reports it being healthy, but I can't access the admin page. I can see the shares from Windows 10, but only the read-only side. If I try to navigate to the share via the previous name or via the local IP address, I receive the error that windows can't access it. I went ahead and did an OS Reinstall from the boot menu, which has changed the IP address for the device on my local network, but still is not allowing me to access the admin page. Aside from standard Windows updates, there have been no changes made to my network or home configuration, so I'm at a bit of a loss for what I can do here. I've tried to disable all firewalls to test, tried multiple Internet browsers to test and I'm not sure what can be done. I can ping the IP address for the ReadyNAS, but I'm not sure what's going on with the web interface at all. If I go to the IP address in a browser directly, I can login with the default credentials to access the /shares, but I can't access /admin at all. I get an error that says: "This site isn’t secure Error Code: DLG_FLAGS_SEC_CERT_CN_INVALID" and if I try to ignore that error, it simply redirects me back. I understand my ReadyNAS is an older unit and I'd love to upgrade to a new one if I can simply install my current drives into a new unit, but that's another question for another time. Any help would be greatly appreciated.Solved6.4KViews0likes15CommentsWindows 10 New PC taking too long to process data on NAS
Been using the NAS for approx 10 months on a Windows 7 PC. Upgraded to new PC running Win 10 Pro. Since then, everything seems to be working ok, can copy, move files ok, open files, save files, etc. The problem occurs when I want to copy data within a spreadsheet in Excel, either to paste ove itself as values only, or into a new spreadsheet. For example, 10,000 records copied on old Win 7 machine, approx 1 second, new Win 10 machine, approx 45 seconds (with frequent "not responding" headers). We also run software called XMPie, by Xerox. We use InDesign to open files, and XMPie to process them. This will not even run on the new setup at all, it crashes. If I however create or copy a file to the local PC and run it, it is fine, its just when the document is opened on the NAS, it will crash when run. It seems to be a communication problem between the PC and the NAS, they don't seem to be talking to each other properly, but I cannot find anything in settings or users that looks different to before. Testing via mapped network drive on both. Network adapter settings all the same except a few that aren't on the other : Desktop energy efficient ethernet - enabled green ethernet - enabled interrupt moderation - enabled receive buffers - 512 receive side scaling - enabled shutdown wake-on-lan - enabled transmit buffers - 128 Laptop vlan id - not present wake on link change - enabled wake on magic packet - enabled I don't know enough about net hardware to know what these really mean. Have recently re-installed Windows7 on the desktop - but the desktop performance has always been similar - although via drag+drop does seem to have slowed - Windows shows 30MB rather than 40MB/s it did before. Have swapped over the cables going to laptop to desktop + re-run - same result on the desktop. Could it just be hardware ? I find it hard to believe since speeds are well below Gb. Some OS difference ? One of the above settings ? TIASolved3.8KViews0likes10CommentsRN102 Slow to access
I'm having a problem with my RN102 - I'm using it to store/stream media on my home network. My home network is a combination of xp, win7, win8 and win10 machines. On win 7 I can access the shares and read the folders almost as if it were a local drive. On win10 its a nightmare - if I click on a drive/share, it'll take ages to give me a listing of the root directory. I get a green progress bar accross the top of windows explorer that just creeps along at the speed of a glacier. I can go away make some coffee, come back, and if I'm lucky I'll be able to see the contents of the drive. The problem continues if I want to go down a level, read the contents of a folder for example - same thing. Only from the win10 machine. Also - I've noticed, if I copy large media files to the RN102, I pretty much can't use it til the next day, because even though the data has left my PC and has been written to the NAS, the drives are working flat out for hours afterwards - I thought it might be to do with the PLEX/TVMobili updating their databases, but surely they can't be needing that much time? Any ideas would be welcome - the NAS is connected to a switch via cat5 cable. So throughput shouldn't be an issue. Thanks in advance2.8KViews0likes7Comments
