After wasting my time for 30 minutes trying to get www.mywifiext.net to work, here's what I did: --I had already set up the WN3500RP using WPS. --Connected to the WN3500RP via Ethernet (i.e. ran a CAT6 cable from my laptop to the Ethernet port on the WN3500RP). --Went into my router's DHCP table to get the IP address of the WN3500RP. --Entered the IP address as the URL (e.g. 192.168.1.144). --Changed the WN3500RP to use a static IP address outside the range of my router's DHCP list (e.g. 192.168.1.163). That way it will always be at .163 so I don't have to hunt for it every time I want to access the admin page. --Entered the new static IP address as the URL (e.g. 192.168.1.163). --Updated the firmware and customized the WN3500RP. Hope that helps!Brand new Samsung S6 Smartphone will not communicate with WN3000RP
I have 2 other devices, a notebook and another android that communicate just fine, but my brand new S6 will not hook up to the extender. I have reset the modem, the extender, and the phone itself. I have told my phone to "forget" that particular connection and have re-set it up to no avail. When I try to connect, it says "connecting" for a minute or so then it tries again, and then finally it says "failed to obtain IP address." Yesterday I set up the range extender. it worked Android Phone & MacBook connect just fine Today: no The devices can see the network, but password isn't accepted. As the same fault is on both devices, I'd guess it's the network extender I've tried: - rebooting things - reset WPS - try to access mywifiext.net - can't - factory reset - reset router - the source wifi network - then reinstall extender - try connecting via Netgear_Ext wifi None of these work I can still see the extended wifi network - and I can see it's renamed itself as part of today's efforts. So the extender must be talking to the router. It's a mystery why the password didn't work though. Yes, I wrote it down ;-) In evernote, since you ask. How do I do a password recovery/reset on the Ext network?3.6KViews0likes1CommentOld 3000RP doesn't work with new modem/WiFi router
Wondering if anybody can help me. I have the Netgear Universal WiFi Range Extender, model WN3000RP V1H2. It worked great until recently, when I changed my ISP to AT&T UVerse (I am now using a Motorola NVG589 modem/WiFirouter), and now the Range Extender no longer works. I have spent hours troubleshooting and reading every FAQ and manual I can find but no luck. Anybody have any thoughts? Much appreciated!14KViews0likes7CommentsWN3000RPv2 Range Entender
I have been using the WN 3000RP Extender for several months now. I have ATT Uverse for my Internet provider. My ATT Modem recently died and I had to replace it. Now everything is working great again EXCEPT now the WN3000 is still hooked up to my old modem. I can't figure out how to reset it so that it links up with the new modem. I've tried pressing the "Factory Reset" button, but this does nothing. Any advice will be greatly appreciated. Bill11KViews0likes1CommentWN3000RP extender passport and rename
I had to restore my extender to the factory settings. I want to rename it from the netgear that automatically comes up. All advice says I should be able to put in admin but I never get a log in box. I need instructions on where to go to rename and give my extender (not my router) a security password, please help. This should not be this hard!12KViews0likes1CommentQuestion
While I do own a Netgear router, my question today doesn't relate to one (I apologize). I had a question posed to me that I was unable to answer, and I was wondering if it could be answered here. I believe this question was given in a networking course. The question is: A customer has complained that they can't access the internet. You run the "ipconfig" command, and get the following information: IPV4 address: 207.75.77.10 Subnet Mask: 255.255.0.0 Default Gateway: 207.75.77.1 What do you suspect is the cause of the problem? (HINT: the IP adress is manually set for security purposes.)9.8KViews0likes1CommentNetgear wn3000rp-200uks
Hi I'm not very technical so please bear with me! I've connected my extender to my router using WPS, so far so good. Unfortunately when I try to connect my iphone or any other device to the extender it says the passkey is invalid. The instructions say use the same passkey as for the router but it will not work. Any suggestions? Thanks!10KViews0likes1Comment
