AC1600 - update firmware manually
For @lowcountrypj
I bought a second-hand AC1600 to use to set up some WI-FI LED lighting. I needed something that I could take with me to a shooting location.
In my house, I have an xFinity router that supports 2.4G, and the lighting setup works great.
But setting up with 2.4G on the AC1600 doesn't work. And it doesn't tell me why.
It looks like it's out of support from Netgear, but I was hoping to find a way to manually update the firmware to the final level before it was obsoleted?
It looks like that was 1.35; mine is 1.02.
I don't know if that will make Wi-Fi LED work, but it seems like it's worth trying - if I can figure out how to get it.
I downloaded/installed the Nighthawk app - it said the route was not supported.
Any ideas?

Re: AC1600 - update firmware manually
C and CM series modems don't allow user updated FW to be loaded. The ISPs are responsible for updating FW that comes from NG and sent to the ISP for there internal testing. Then they may send the FW out to users. Be aware that there are some ISPs that will not update user owned modems. Something to discuss with the ISP.
