Buying Nighthawk AC1900

Hello, I have Comcast service with voice, TV and Internet and I was thinking about buying the Nighthawk 3.0 High speed cable modem router + voice.

 

My question is would it be a seamless transition from the Arris model in that I could simply plug the Nighthawk in and not worry about having it set up by a comcast tech?

 

I've just heard so many nightmare scenerios from the Comcast boards about people buying their own modems and then are not able to get service without hours of being on the phone with the wonderful people from comcast.

    you can try shorter hold number 1800-OK-BEGIN which is bit faster.
