CM1200 Login Issue

Using a CM1200 with Spectrum. No issues connecting to 500/25 mbps service.

Router: Ubiquiti Edgewriter 4 with IP 192.168.1.1

As failover I use a GL750S on second WAN port IP 192.168.8.1 Failover from Spectrum WAN 1 works great with Iphone 11 OS 14 to hold open active Cellular backup connection 60/5 mbps on WAN 2.

RE CM1200...

Cannot access CM1200 modem login using ethernet. Can access with WiFi.

Cannot PING 192.168.100.1

Ping reports...

pinging 192.168.100.1 with 32 bytes of data.

Reply from 192.168.8.1: Destination Net unreachable

Why is the GL750S involved in the PING? WAN 2 is only active during failover. Conflict. Where, how?

Thanks

  • Is LAG enabled on the CM modem?

You can only have 1 router connected to LAN port 1 as most ISP only assign 1 WAN IP address to the modems #1 port.

You should be able to access the modems web page thru the 1st router you have connected on WAN #1 port.

Check with the Mfr of these routers for help and support on there products...possilble access issue thru these routers.

      LACP is turned off.

CM1200 is connected to Ubiquiti router on ethernet 0 configured as WAN 1, this is set as the primary with failover to WAN 2 only if WAN 1 disconnects. GL750S is connected to router on ethernet 1 as WAN 2. Router ethernet 2 feeds network switches, all 1gb ports.

Some sort of redirect is happening. When the PING to 192.168.100.1 occurs on the WAN 1 network the GL750S router on WAN2 replies.

Simply unplugging the ethernet cable to my laptop and using WiFi resolves this but it makes no sense.

Will discuss with Ubiquiti next. Thanks.
