CM500 only one upstream channel and frequent disconnects

My internet connection has been having frequent outages for a while now. I noticed the upstream light on my modem was solid amber and after looking at how to fix that I saw recommendations to look at the cable connection and event logs of the modem. I saw I only have 1 upstream channel and my modem says I should have 4. Any advice on how to fix this?

  • You have a lot of errors in your lines.

    Remove any splitters, amplifiers, attenuators from your line. Try and hook the modem to right where the coax enters the home. If you still continue to have signal issues like that, your isp needs to check your lines.

      WHat can I learn from Critical and Warning entries in my Event Log?  I'd like to separate findings that are my responsibility from those of my ISP. EX:

      Critical (3)   No Ranging Response received - T3 time-out;

      Critical (3) Unicast Ranging Received Abort Response - Re-initializing

      Critical (3) Received Response to Broadcast Maintenance Request, But no Unicast Maintenance opportunities received - T4 time out

      Critical (3) Started Unicast Maintenance Ranging - No Response received -

      Unicast DSID PSN startup error

      No UCDs Received - Timeout

      SYNC Timing Synchronization failure - Failed to acquire QAM/QPSK symbol timing;

      SYNC Timing Synchronization failure - Failed to acquire FEC framing

      DHCP WARNING - Non-critical field invalid in response

      Honoring MDD; IP provisioning mode = IPv4

      Are there docs for these logs?

      Thanks!
