Upstream power is still too hot (ideally should be dropped by 6 dB if possible). I think someone at the ISP side need to reduce one of the attenuators in the upstream direction.

 

are you facing any dropouts?

Looks like your ISP (most probably comcast) has enabled something called "Extended Upstream Power" on your account (which is good thing).

 

Knowing that your Cable modem literally need to transmit at such high power, it is probably because you have too many splitters in your home or you have too much attenuation in your RF line coming into your home

Thanks for reply.
I have one splitter in a bedroom with a power supply feeding it. I call it a wall wart. There may be one more splitter at the box outside.
Would it be worth eliminating the one outside and I believe I don't need it anyway. To get a quicker or smoother connection?

yeah, better to eliminate spliters you really dont need. 

 

are you mixing Satellite (direcTV, Dish, etc) and Cable connections in your home? I guess now. Most people who have outside splitter, they have Internet from Cable company and TV service from satellite guy. OR sometimes it is just something old owner put that in.

No, comcast for tv and internet. im getting a diagram together so ill know how the wire runs and what splitters are there. I know its a littlke jacked up cause they were in a hurry. The installers didnt know ive been a low voltage tech for 20+ years lmao. Will get back to you on counts.

Ok mapped all coax from pole to the modem. Have (1) subscriber amplifier CSAPDU5VP AND (1) powered splitter to one of the bedrooms.

I eliminated both pieces of equipment so main feed goes straight to the modem ranted theres a (2) coax couplings and say 50ft RG6.

Rebooted modem and still getting same db levels.

No been up and running fine getting 90 down and 12 up. I have eliminated coax or splitters in house. Has to be on pole, am I correct?
