Cm1100 xfinity mid-split firmware needed

Hi netgear devs,
When will a ‘mid-split’ capable firmware for xfinity be released to xfinity? I’m in such an area and my upload speeds are capped at 25Mbps. I’m paying for 100Mbps. Just need a netgear cm1100 firmware to be provided to xfinity.
I’ve been a loyal netgear owner for many years. I don’t want to buy a hitron (I’m budget conscious and won’t spend >$135).

The CM1100 is a cable modem so, as you say, firmware updates are in the hands of your Internet service provider. As a user-to-user community, this isn't the place where Netgear is going to chew over its discussions with ISPs.

This really isn't the section to ask about cable modems, either.

While many questions about routers are generic and could be answered anywhere, some things need specialist knowledge.

You may be in for a long wait. That modem is now six years old. And hardware makers seem to have concluded that combined modem/routers  are the way to go, even though experienced users don't like all in one boxes. Partly those is down to ISPs putting pressure on users to go down that road.

Does your ISP have a list of compatible modems?

Does Netgear offer a newer modem that meets your needs? If so, then at least you know that it understands the technology. If not it is likely to rewrite firmware for older models.

One of the benefits of going "modem only" is that it should cost less and you can keep your existing router. And when you feel the urge, or if they change your Internet technology, you can buy whatever router you like.
