Re: Double nat on xbox
Did you hard power OFF the xbox by pressing the front power button and holding it until the xbox shut off? Then reboot the modem router and then turn on the xbox?

Re: Double nat on xbox
What happens if you hard power OFF the xbox then elave it off.
Factory rest the modem and setup from scratch. Use uPnP only with no port forwarding configurations. After the modem is setup. Power ON the xbox and check netwworking NAT status.
Is this the only xbox game console you have online or is the more then one?

Thanks for the analysis, but it might be helpful to see how you
arrived at that conclusion. Actual error message from something?

What did you have before?

That's what you have now?
What's the IP address of the WAN/Internet interface of the C6220?
(ADVANCED > ADVANCED Home : Internet Port : Internet IP Address)
What's the (LAN) IP address of the Xbox?

Not a very detailed description of anything.

Not what I asked. What I asked was:

If you're worried about revealing secrets, then the top half, "a.b"
out of "a.b.c.d", would satisfy my curiosity. Is that address a
private/non-routable address? (If it's not obvious, then plug it into
the form at: https://whois.arin.net/ .)

Possibly relevant (but, with no useful information, it's hard to
guess):

You might waste less of everyone's time if you answered the questions
which were actually asked, rather than the questions which you
apparently wish had been asked. For example:

Just a thought.

Re: Double nat on xbox
Did you ever get this solved? I have a TP-link modem and a Netgear R6120 AC1200 router now. I can't seem to solve my kid's Xbox "double NAT" so I was going to buy a modem/router combo to solve the issue CUZ how could one box give you a double NAT??? But you scare me with the C6220 giving you trouble ... If I had C6220 going straight to my cable coming in the house, I can still get a double NAT on my WiFI router side? Geez. Why even buy a combo box then? This was going to be my solution.

Has this "modem" a model number? (Is it a "modem" or a
modem+router?)
By itself, that difference would justify opening your own new thread
for your own problem, rather than joining this old, dead-end thread.

You can, if your (unspecified) ISP uses carrier-grade NAT. Did you
read any of the previous stuff here? Clearly, you didn't grasp the
value of a useful description of your "a TP-link modem". Did you
consider answering the other questions which the OP failed to answer
about his environment?
> [...] Why even buy a combo box then? [...]
It's more compact, with one less pesky Ethernet cable? If you ever
need a new/better modem, it encourages you buy a new router, too?
> [...] This was going to be my solution.
Perhaps it would be helpful to determine the cause of the problem
before deciding on a solution to it.

Re: Double nat on xbox
I didn't see this response before the parallel thread response. While I am sure you get tired of talking to a lot of newbies trying to figure out their internet problems, berating them does not help. Most of the people you are talking to do not know what they are not telling you.
I will say that this part of your response was very helpful. "You can, if your (unspecified) ISP uses carrier-grade NAT." I looked that up and it seemed to help explain why a "tracert 8.8.8.8" would show an extra private IP address I could not explain. I called my ISP and they changed the setting to open on my privately own TC-7610 and my daughter's XBOX now reports an open NAT type. Amazingly, the tracert still shows the extra private IP address (but a different one) so I still don't understand all this.
So you did help me fix the issue and saved me $100+. Thanks!
