Firmaware updates for AC1900-C7000

My ISP is XFinity and I have this Netgear (AC1900) modem-router combo. I was wondering where the firmware updates come from.  Should Xfinity be releasing updates or do they come from Netgear?

Any C and CM series model modems firmware comes from the ISP. NG develops it then hands it off to the ISP for further testing and certification on there networks.
