How can I create a hard copy of configuration settings?
I did a factory reset after the last firmware update due to DNS issues. I got frustrated with trying to remember configuration setting so did a restore. DNS issues remained so I downgraded the firmware. I have just read that a restore can introduce a compatibiliby issue after a firmware update/factory reset which seems absurd but I would like to be running the latest firmware so am willing to give the update/factory reset process another try if I can capture configuration settings beforehand in such a way that I can reference them during re-configuration. A screenshot of each screen is not a practical option so suggestions for an easier way would be appreciated.

Be sure to save off a back up configuration to file for safe keeping. Saves time if a reset is needed.

Netgear has set up a community forum specifically for General Router products. Most of the people who watch that forum are more likely to have experience with older routers and know how to work it better than those of us who follow this forum. Might be more likely to find someone who has a solution if the question is posted there:
